Lucas Late Models Set for Southern Showdown in The Peach State

WAYCROSS, GA -September 27, 2016 – The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will return to the Peach State this weekend for an action-packed doubleheader. A band of the nation’s elite dirt late model drivers will tackle two venues that have been pillars on the LOLMDS tour.
The activities will kick off on Saturday night, October 1st with the Lucas Oil Dixie Shootout at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA. This year’s event will feature a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 60-lap, $12,000-to-win main event. The last series visit to Dixie Speedway (2014) saw Chris Madden claim his second consecutive Dixie Shootout over Dale McDowell, Don O’Neal, Steve Francis, and Jimmy Owens.
On Sunday night, October 2nd the action will shift to Rome International Speedway in Rome, GA for the Lucas Oil Rome Showdown. The event will include: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 50-lap, $10,000-to-win main event. Scott Bloomquist will return as the defending race winner – after claiming the victory in 2014 – ahead of Brandon Overton, Chris madden, Rick Eckert, and Casey Roberts.
