August 20, 2018 (Fonda, NY) – King Of Dirt Racing strives to offer different things to dirt track racing in the Capital District and surrounding areas, after all that’s what separates one from the norm. On September 19th with the help of Whitney Productions and O’Zoner Drive In Movie Theater in Broadalbin, NY that will happen once again, as Dirt Rush will be featured on the big screen.

KOD Series promoter Rob Hazer began working on an idea to combine two passions last fall; drive in movies and dirt track racing. Thanks to the generosity of owners Bill and Darci Wemple that dream will become reality when the Dirt Rush reality series directed and produced by Dave Whitney hits the big screen of the O’Zoner Drive In Movie Theater on Wednesday September 19th in Broadalbin, NY.

“If I’m not at the track, I’m typically at the drive in having a pulled pork sandwich and some onion rings. Nothing beats the nostalgic feel of a drive in movie and it’s very cool that Bill and Darci are helping to combine two different passions of mine for a special night for everyone,” said KOD promoter Rob Hazer.

Since 2003 the O’Zoner 29 Twin Drive In Movie Theatre has been showing movies starting at dusk to viewers from all over the Capital District including Fulton and Montgomery counties with much success. They also own and operate the El-Rancho Drive In Movie Theater in Canajoharie, NY. Being a family owned and operated business is appealing to moviegoers as well.

“I’ve been going to El-Rancho since I as a kid and O’Zoner since it opened up back in 2003. One of the things that makes it a special experience in my humble opinion is the family atmosphere. Kids are often playing prior to showings and everyone in the snack bar is so friendly, because they’re a fun family,” continued Rob Hazer.

Dirt Rush was developed by producer Dave Whitney and creative director Rob Hazer to film a raw and unscripted behind the scenes look at the efforts put in by drivers during a night of dirt track racing. It was a smashing success and warranted thousands of views via the series YouTube channel and Social Media platforms. Now for the first time, the drivers involved will be shown on the big screen.

“I’m excited man. To see something I produced come to life on a drive in movie screen is pretty awesome. I never imagined that would happen, but it’s going to be special. Thanks to the folks at O’Zoner for letting us show the sport we love to whomever wants to come and watch,” said Whitney Productions owner David Whitney.

Whitney will provide something special for the firs time ever event, which includes never before seen footage from Dirt Rush Season 1 featuring drivers Matt DeLorenzo, Jason Herrington, Jeff Watson, Scott Duell, Jason Casey, and Robbie Speed. He’ll also be debuting a brand new extended trailer for Dirt Rush Season 2 featuring drivers Jessey Mueller, Allison Ricci, Chad Edwards, Michael Sabia, Jason Meltz, and Jonathan Routhier.

O’Zoner will have their full snack bar open with some fan favorites like Pulled Pork, Onion Rings, Pizza Bites, Loaded Nachos, and Fried Dough. They’ll also have classics such as Hamburg, Hot Dogs, French Fries, and candy for the kids. Don’t forget to ask for a root-beer float.

For King Of Dirt Racing it’s another opportunity to promote the historic tracks they visit and drivers that take part in the tour. Tracks like Albany Saratoga, Devil’s Bowl, Fonda, Lebanon Valley, and Utica Rome Speedways are all featured during seasons 1 and 2 of Dirt Rush with a diverse group of drivers.

One final added touch will be a mini car show of sorts featuring drivers from season’s 1 and 2 of Dirt Rush for fans and kids to take pictures by or grab an autograph from the driver.

“One thing we wanted to make sure of is that we have something for everyone at O’Zoner during the showing, especially for kids. Our goal is maybe some parents who’s kids haven’t been to the races or seen a race car can come down, see one, enjoy the show, and become a fan of both racing and the drive ins,” concluded Rob Hazer.

There will be more details to come on drivers who might be displaying their race rods at O’Zoner on September 19th during the viewing of Dirt Rush. Stay tuned to the King Of Dirt Racing website and Social Media page.
