Driver Rewards Program For Full-Fender Drivers Set For Upcoming Season

105Fonda, NY- March 17, 2016-  When the Lazzaro’s Auto Body King Of Dirt Pro Stock Series heads to the action track of the east on May 15th drivers will begin battling through the summer months for the kings throne. The excitement for full-fender drivers is growing with anticipation for an expanded 2016 schedule, preferred starters status, and now a driver rewards program.

Pro Stocks without question put on some truly exciting racing. This coming season should be no different when drivers throw down for the crown beginning at Utica Rome Speedway. During the ‘Action Track Throwdown’ an increased purse is up for grabs, but it’s the crown everyone seeks. Now Pro Stock drivers have a scheduled six races to battle it out to be King.

“I’m pleased that the Pro Stock drivers have double the races this year. We’ve managed to grow the Pro Stock tour to double what it was last year thanks to Lyle DeVore and Bill Shea both taking on a pair of full fender races,” said KOD promoter Rob Hazer.

Last year the series consisted of three races at Albany-Saratoga, Lebanon Valley, and Fonda Speedways. In 2016 an additional race was added to the Pro Stock schedule at the great race placed called the ‘Pro Stock Classic’ and Utica Rome picked up two events to go along with scheduled races at Lebanon Valley and Fonda Speedway. The expanded schedule of course means more opportunity for drivers; along with allowing the series to offer something their sister Sportsman series has in place.

054During the season each race will have lap sponsorships available for the traditional $10 a lap and will go into the driver rewards program. Any driver that competes in five of the scheduled six races is eligible for part of the driver rewards program. The reason behind the number five is because each driver gets one drop for the season, which their worst finish will automatically be removed from their point standings.

“This year we’re offering one drop for both divisions. We understand sometimes drivers have things they need to attend to during the summer; they may have an emergency, or there may just need a night off from the grind. We’ll be doing the driver rewards program the same way we do it for the Sportsman, which means any driver that shows up to five of the scheduled six races, pays their entry fees, is going to be rewarded at our banquet from a potential pot of $1,800. Let’s say 12 drivers make five races, that’s $150 per driver as a bonus on top of their point fund earnings. Our goal is to sell all the laps and make it happen for the Pro Stock drivers,” continued Rob Hazer.

Schedule consists of some pretty exciting races for 2016 in the Pro Stock division and has garnered attention from drivers in and around the Capital Region. Series officials have heard from drivers at Albany-Saratoga, Lebanon Valley, Fonda, and Utica Rome who are interested in following the entire tour. Each track should be well represented.

114“As I’ve mentioned before, I’m excited for the Pro Stock drivers. We have some great supporters of the division, great sponsors, and this year is going to be an epic throw down for the full-fender crown. Drivers are getting excited, which makes us excited. Schedule is set and shouldn’t change outside of rain outs unless something else out of our control should happen to pop up again,” concluded Rob Hazer.

As of right now the schedule starts at Utica Rome Speedway May 15th and then heads to Albany-Saratoga on June 3rd. A return trip to Albany-Saratoga on July 8th is then followed by a scheduled trip to Fonda Speedway on August 10th. From there it’s on to the high banks of Lebanon Valley Speedway August 27th and the season finale is September 9th at Utica Rome.
