BATTLE OF TRENTON SLINGSHOT RACE TO PAY $1000 TO WIN THANKS TO LENTINI AUTO SALVAGE

TRENTON, NJ November 21, 2014 . . . The always competitive, intense Slingshot drivers and teams have greater rewards awaiting them when Len Sammons Motorsports Productions presents its second ‘Battle Of Trenton’ at Sun National Bank Center in Trenton on Friday, December 19 and Saturday, December 20.

Thanks to the support of new division sponsor Lentini Auto Salvage, the 20 lap Slingshot feature event in Trenton will now pay $1,000 to win.

Starting with the Slingshot event to be held on Saturday night December 20 during the Second Annual Battle of Trenton Indoor Race inside the Sun National Bank Center and then during the NAPA Auto Parts Atlantic City Indoor Race set for January 30 and 31 inside Boardwalk Hall, all Slingshots events will carry the Lentini Auto Salvage banner.

“We are pleased to be involved with Len Sammons Motorsports Productions at this event,” said Darryl Carman, second generation operator of Lentini Auto Salvage. “The big crowds and the direct involvement we have in Slingshot racing as competitors makes this a perfect fit to promote our business and have some fun at the same time.”

Carman’s sons and nephew all have prior Slingshot Indoor Boardwalk Hall driving experience.

New Jersey’s first fully computerized auto salvage yard for over six decades, Lentini Auto Salvage takes pride in building a progressive and organized operation.

Carman himself is a dirt track Modified and Sportsman driver who won multiple track championships at both Flemington and East Windsor Speedways in New Jersey.

Slingshot entries for The Battle Of Trenton are racing in at a brisk pace. Last year’s winner Gary Hieber, perennial contenders Kurt Bettler, Ricky Yetter and Matt Carman, nephew of Darryl Carman of Lentini Auto Salvage are among the top challengers.

The event in Trenton will feature only 24 competitors due to parking limitations; only a handful of spots remain. Those interested in entering are urged to do so at once. Entry forms are available online at www.aarn.com.

The Slingshots will be joining the full field of TQ Midgets that will race in a two-day series of efficiently proved events in a unique format. Friday Night’s event will allow 40 competitors to run in one of the Twin 20 Lap features. Saturday’s Schedule will feature a more traditional format of time trials, heat races, B-mains leading up to a 40 lap feature event.

Five weeks after the Trenton events, Atlantic City’s historic Boardwalk Hall will be the site of the annual Gamblers Classic.

Slingshot entries for the Atlantic City race have been pouring into the Len Sammons Productions office at a record pace. The Atlantic City entry list for the Lentini Auto Salvage Slingshots, limited to forty-eight by space considerations, is currently filled with a waiting list existing.

The Atlantic City meet, highlighted by the ‘Gambler’s Classic’ in Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall is set for January 30 and 31, 2015. NAPA Auto Parts will once again return as the title sponsor for the event. Tickets are now on sale for both of these races.

At the Trenton event, for the first time ever, a special “combo” ticket will be available giving attendees the option to purchase tickets to both nights of racing at a discounted price. As an added bonus those who purchase the combo will also receive access to a special Fanfest on Saturday night before the races.
