Wall Stadium Modifieds ready for Garden State Classic

1-NJMPVL6112016%20178WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ- June 24, 2016- Many of the top drivers in asphalt Modified stock car racing are ready to compete in one of the most prestigious events in the sport as Wall Stadium presents the 55th running of the Garden State Classic this Saturday evening (June 25). Current plans call for spectator seating to open at 5:00 p.m., with qualifying slated for 5:45 p.m. and main event action to follow around 7:00 p.m.

This year’s 125-lap format, offering $5,000 to the winner, is attracting the attention of several racers in the Downs Ford Modified division. Expected to see action are top drivers Andrew Krause of Holmdel, brothers Trevor and Zack Alspach, both of Willingboro, Eric Mauriello of Howell, Jackson’s Jason Treat, Brick’s Shawna Ingraham, Jackson’s Steven Reed and Derek Hopkinson of Toms River. Also among expected entries are Adam LaCicero of Lavallette, Chas Okerson of Freehold, Shaun Carrig of Little Falls, Howell’s Chris Reynolds and Jason Hearne of New Egypt.

1-Wall61116%20354“Outside Invaders,” drivers who do not compete at Wall on a weekly basis, have also shown an interest in the event including Danny Bohn of Mooresville, N.C., Anthony Sesely of Matawan and Matt Hirschman of Northampton, Pa.

Along with the championship 125-lap Downs Ford Modified race, the open cockpit TQ Midgets will battle in a 25-lap race on the “inner oval” while the O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks and the Surf Side Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks will compete in 25-lap feature races on the third mile high banked paved oval.

In addition the Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club cars will also be on display in the midway area, rides around the famous oval will be offered in the Green Flag Driving Experience ride-along car and the Navy Color Guard will be an important part of pre-race ceremonies. Children will enjoy the bounce house and special Brownie Sundaes will for available at the ice cream stand.

Saturday’s schedule will see the competitor pit area open at 1:00 p.m. Regular practice will start at 3:00 p.m., while spectator seating will open at 5:00 p.m.

Qualifying will then begin at 5:45 p.m. to be followed by feature race action for all divisions slated for 7:00 p.m.
