FREE PRE-RACE ‘PARTY AT THE PATH’ HIGHLIGHTS FRED RAHMER PROMOTIONS 410 SPRINT SPEED WEEK EVENT ON SUNDAY, JUNE 28
SPRING RUN, Pa. (June 21, 2015) –Just a week remains until Fred Rahmer Promotions presents a full day of partying at ‘The Path’ with an all-day pre-race picnic at the Hammond’s Grove – featuring live music, food, games and give-a-ways — followed by a full night of intense racing action featuring the 410 sprint cars and the 600cc winged micro sprints at the Path Valley Speedway Park, as part of Pennsylvania Sprint Speed Week. This all takes place on Sunday, June 28 with the party starting at noon and hot laps starting at 6:00 PM and is FREE with the purchase of a race ticket or a pit pass.
The pre-race spectacular will kick-off at noon at local camping spot Hammond’s Grove, 19898 Hammond Road, Spring Run, PA – on Route 75 just up the road from the speedway. The pre-race party is included FREE of charge as part of your $20 general admission armband or your pit pass armband. Race fans can purchase event tickets at the Path Valley Speedway Park, starting at 11:30 AM – where shuttles will transport you to the party or race armbands can be purchased at Hammond’s Grove picnic area.
All of these festivities lead to the fastest cars on dirt, the 410 Sprint Cars, at the Path Valley ¼ mile bullring. The area’s top competitors will participate in a 40 lap, $5,000-to-win main event. Defending champion, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma’s Brady Bacon will look to defend his 2014 win at the Path, while chasing the $10,000 Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speed Week Championship – with sponsorship support from the infamous Beer Hill Gang.
Looking to thwart Bacon’s efforts are Pennsylvania mainstays: Greg Hodnett, Brian Montieth, Lance Dewease, Lucas Wolfe, Danny Dietrich, Cory Haas and Brent Marks. And invading All-Star Sprint Series competitor Red Lion, PA’s Cody Darrah.
With all Fred Rahmer Promotions events, the bonus money is plentiful. A $500 bonus is offered to the winner of each 410 Sprint Car qualifying heat event – as long as that winner comes from outside the front row — if a driver from the front row picks up the victory they will receive $200 for their win, and the additional $300 will be added into the Lawrence Chevrolet Non-Qualifiers event jackpot.
Lawrence Chevrolet of Mechanicsburg, PA presents the Non-Qualifiers event with a guaranteed winner’s share of $500 – but that jackpot could reach as high as $1,700 depending on the results of the qualifying heat events. At the 2014 Speedweek event, Chandler Leiby earned $1,100 for his non-qualifiers win and at the April 26 event TJ Stutts earned $1,400 for his non-qualifiers win.
Hoosier Racing Tires gets involved with a 410 Sprint Car contingency bonus that sees six right rear Hoosier Tires being distributed to drivers based on a fan vote, as well as four right rear Hoosier tires that will be distributed to 600cc Winged Micro Sprint drivers based on a random drawing.
The winged 600cc Micro Sprints will take part in a 25-lap, $750 to win A-Main event. At the last Fred Rahmer Promotions event 47 600cc Micro Sprints attempted to qualify. In one of the more unique promotions, two 600cc Micro Sprint drivers – the winner of the Fred Rahmer Promotions point series and one random driver that has competed in all three of the Rahmer Path Valley events — will be given to the opportunity to win a test session aboard one of the Fred Rahmer-owned 410 Sprint Cars. Tyler Walton currently leads Kameron Morral and Tim Buckwalter in the series championship.
The June 28th at the Path Valley Speedway marks the third event of the Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek schedule – which offers nine races in ten days, with $250,000 in race payouts. With sponsorship support from Wayback Burgers and associate sponsorship from Trone Outdoor Advertising a $25,000 point fund will be offered with $10,000 going to the series champion. Celebrating its 25 season, Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek has hosted 163 races at 12 different tracks, with 36 different drivers scoring wins.
