FOUR DIVISIONS OF RACING ACTION AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY FEATURED IN T.P.TRAILERS NIGHT
ALWAYS POPULAR VINTAGE CAR RACING WILL BE PART OF SATURDAY EVENTS
BECHTELSVILLE, PA June 8, 2016 . . . The battle for the lucrative NASCAR and track point titles continues at Grandview Speedway this Saturday with T.P.Trailers Night offering an exciting four division show of auto racing action. Judging from early racing action the season seems headed to becoming one of the most competitive seen at the 54-year-old racing facility in quite sometime.
With six weeks of racing completed ( four events have been rained out) Craig VonDohren is leading in the T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds with 1714 points and two wins to his credit. VonDohren is an eight time and defending champion. Veteran Mike Gular has put together a series of strong finishes to hold second in the chase for the NASCAR and track Modified titles. Gular is just 150 points behind and 10-time champion Jeff Strunk is coming off a strong second place finish last Saturday and is closing in on the top spot.
Dave Ogin, without benefit of a feature win, leads the BRC Late Model standings and Jordan Henn leads the Sportsman with 1237 counters and one win. Only 19 points separate Henn from challenger Craig Whitmoyer.
There have been 13 different feature winners in the three divisions of stock car racing making up the regular Saturday night attractions. The Sportsman division has had 6 different winners in as many races.
This Saturday night is T.P.Trailers Night. The Limerick, PA business has been a major booster of stock car racing at Grandview for several years and reaps the marketing benefits of being involved with the excitement of NASCAR 358 Modified action. The June 11th show will feature the T.P.Trailers NASCAR Whelen All American Series 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models, Sportsman stock cars and the popular Blast from the Past Vintage racers. Racing gets the green flag at 7:30 p.m. Racing action will be recorded and shown later in the week on RCN-TV.
Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is just $15 for adults while youngsters under 12 are admitted free. Military with proper ID are also admitted free.
At 5 p.m. the Low Down and Dirty Radio Meet & Greet will feature three competitors with their race cars at the main gate area. This is a great opportunity to meet the racers, collect autographs and take pictures.
Coming up on Saturday, June 18th the NASCAR Sportsman will be featured in a 40-lap main event with the night being sponsored by BFP Specialties and Bashore Trucking. In addition the T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds will be in action along with the BRC Late Models. Adult admission for the tripleheader starting at 7:30 p.m. will be $20 while youngsters 6 through 11 will pay just $5. Kids under 6 are admitted free.
Grandview Speedway, a one-third-mile, banked clay track, is located on Passmore Road just off Route 100 in Bechtelsville, PA, 10 miles north of Pottstown. A full assortment of great concessions and novelty items are available. Free parking on the grounds. Fans are invited to the competition area after the events are completed to meet the racers.
