WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Exciting stock car racing will take center stage on the speedway and community heroes will be honored in the grandstands as Wall Stadium Speedway presents “First Responders Night” this Saturday (August 13). On the track five racing divisions will compete in seven main events while in the grandstands the men and women who serve our community in police forces, fire companies and rescue squads will be admitted to the spectator area free of charge with proper identification.

Grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m. and rain postponed main events and qualifying is set for 5:30 p.m. The evening’s originally scheduled main event action will follow around 7:00 p.m.

On the famous third mile high-banked paved oval the Downs Ford Modifieds will be in the spotlight in a 40-lap main event. Defending champion Steven Reed of Jackson will lead the way with expected competition coming from recent “Summer Scorcher” winner Jimmy Blewett of Howell, multi-time champ Chas Okerson of Freehold, Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Ron Frees of Brick, Eric Mauriello of Howell, Brick’s Shawna Ingraham and Jason Hearne of New Egypt just to name a few.

The Snap On Sportsman cars will also be featured in a pair of 25-lap feature races, one regularly scheduled and one rain postponed from July 30. Top point earners Ricky Collins of Willow Grove, Pa., Shanon Mongeau of Manchester, Dom Fattarusso of Brick, Kevin Davison of Howell and Jackson’s Blake Barney are among those expected to see action.

1-WallA7216 866The Surf Side Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks will also compete in two 25-lap features with one being rain postponed from July 30. The O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks will also be in the spotlight in a 50-lap feature race and the visiting Micro Stocks will compete in a 20-lap race on the “inner oval.”

Saturday’s schedule will see the competitor pit area open at 1:00 p.m. Regular practice will start at 3:00 p.m., while spectator seating will open at 5:00 p.m. The two rain postponed races are set for 5:30 p.m. followed by qualifying for the night’s program. Originally scheduled main events will follow at 7:00 p.m.
