SYRACUSE, NY –June 9, 2016- After a fun weekend in Quebec, the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) is back at it with two big events this weekend. On Friday it’s at the Mohawk International Raceway and then on Sunday it’s off to the Utica-Rome Speedway to make up the rain out for May 29.
Steve Poirier swept both events in his native Quebec and retook the overall point lead. But with his second and third place finishes Jason Barney is close behind. Paul Kinney, Parker Evans, Matt Tanner, Jeff Cook, Chad Miller, Paulie Colagiovanni and Dave Axton are locked into the top ten in points and are expected at Mohawk.
They will be joined by Shawn Donath, Tim Axton, Dylan Swiernik, Denny Peebles, Brandon Kidd, Dan Douville, Keith Granholm and several of our friends from Canada which include Jordan Poirier, Patrick Vigneault, Yan Bilodeau, Paul Pekkonen, Guillaume Neiderer, Dale Gosselin and more.
The Mohawk event is a vital stop on the tour as it will pay points for the overall Lucas Oil Championship, The NAPA Auto Parts US Tour, the Einstein Const. Group Canada Tour and also the SUNY Canton Series.
On Sunday it will be the first of five visits to the popular half-mile. Many other drivers will be in the pits which include former World of Outlaw regular Lucas Wolfe running his first ever ESS event. He will also be joined by Stewart Friesen, Bryan Howland, Larry Wight, Sammy Reakes IV, Danny Varin, Mike Stelter, Tommy Wickham, Cory Sparks, Chuck and Kelly Hebing, Chris Jones, Paul Habeck and more.
The Car Mate Trailers heats kicks off the night’s racing action, Westfront Construction brings you the Cobra Coaches dash at Mohawk with Einstein Construction Group at Utica, Lacaillade Masonry backs the B-Main before the Mach 1 Chassis 25 lap A-Main’s that pay $275 to start will conclude each night.
It’s fun on the dirt for fans from United States and Canada alike at Mohawk and it’s back to a familiar spot at Utica-Rome where the ESS tradition of excitement guaranteed continues!!
