Donny Schatz’s Season Clears $798,000 in Earnings

Of course this is all unofficial but, If you ever wondered what kind of money a professional Sprint Car Racer earns you’re about to find out. I did some research on the ride back from Charlotte and the amount is mind-blowing for a person who races Sprint Cars on short-tracks for a living.
During his 34 win season, just in A-Main wins only, including his ninth win in the Knoxville Nationals, Donny Schatz won $472,000.
During his 80+ race campaign including his Super Late Model, World of Outlaws, and Australian Sprint Car schedules Schatz collected $648,300 in race earnings. Add in the $150,000 Schatz took in to win the 2015 World of Outlaws title that brings the total to $798,300. Not bad for only 80 days of work in a year.
Obviously Donny doesn’t get 100% of the winnings but still I’m sure he’s getting a pretty good percentage of that.
