GETTYSBURG, Pa. -September 21, 2016 – For the first time in his career, Danny Dietrich, pilot of the Gary Kauffman Racing, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Hickory Run Orchards, Weikert’s Livestock, Carlisle Auto Salvage, CATS Used Truck Parts, No. 48 entry, will make the trip to Concord, North Carolina; set to join the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series for the annual Bad Boy Off Road World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
The three-day showcase, complete with qualifying on Thursday evening, October 27, and two, full programs on Friday and Saturday, October 28-29, will welcome the nation’s elite open wheel race teams, all working to conquer the state-of-the-art facility for a pair of $12,000 top prizes. Like prior seasons, the World of Outlaws World Finals will conclude the 2016 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series schedule.
“This is really exciting for our team,” Danny Dietrich said. “We had some different ideas in mind for an ‘end of the year trip,’ but this worked out to be the best option for us this year. I can’t thank my car owner and all of my partners enough for this opportunity. It should be a great trip. Hopefully we can make all of our fans and supporters proud. We’re excited to get going.”
Before making the trip to North Carolina in late October, Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will enter a busy stretch of premier programs in Central Pennsylvania, including a demanding tripleheader this Thursday through Saturday, September 22-24, at Susquehanna Speedway, Williams Grove Speedway and Lincoln Speedway. Dietrich will kick-off his upcoming three-race weekend on Thursday evening, September 22, with Justin Snyder’s “Salute to the Troops” program at the Susquehanna Speedway near York Haven, Pennsylvania.
Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg will host a World of Outlaws National Open Tune-Up on Friday night, September 23, featuring an entire World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series format. The last chance tune-up will give “Pennsylvania Posse” teams like Gary Kauffman Racing one last opportunity to test their equipment and fine tune their machines before the National Open invasion.
Dietrich’s upcoming tripleheader weekend will conclude with the $20,000-to-win/$1,000-to-start Dirt Classic at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, September 24.
Danny Dietrich will enter the high dollar tripleheader with two, recent top-ten feature finishes to his credit; ninth at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night, September 16, and tenth during the Jim Nace Memorial/National Open at Selinsgrove Speedway on Saturday, September 17.
“We still have a long way to go before we can begin to worry about preparing for the World Finals,” Dietrich explained. “I want to make sure that we are more than competitive when we arrive in Charlotte. Our results have been consistent, and we are proud of that, we just want more. We have a lot of big programs circled on our calendar during the next few weeks. Our goal is to enter all of those programs and be in a position to win each one of them. The season is closing quickly. We don’t want any of it to go to waste.”
