1-16-16-cb-heinbros-7aTULSA, Okla. -December 14, 2016- The list for the 31st annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals presented by General Tire continues to climb as the latest round of entries has put the count at 266 with only 13 of those still in search of a driver.

Among the latest to cast their name into the hunt for a Golden Driller, is the man who’s won more than anyone as Sammy Swindell will take part in his 27th Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals presented by General Tire. Five times a winner under the roof of the River Spirit Expo Center, Swindell will pilot his familiar John Christner Trucking/Spike No. 1 around the Tulsa Expo Raceway.

1-12-16-cb-heinbros-24Another multi-time winner to join the ranks is Cory Kruseman. Taking the top spot in 2000 and 2004, Kruseman will as always have a fleet of drivers under his stewardship with five in all expected to fly the flag for the Lucas Oil backed team. One remains a TBA at this time.

Finding Victory in 2006, Lucas Oil Late Model ace, and New York native Tim McCreadie, rolls into Tulsa in the Bondio No. 47x following a successful show performance in the 2016 Lucas Oil Late Model point standings. McCreadie was recently named the driver of the house car for Longhorn Chassis and will again compete with the Lucas Oil Late Model Series.

Three additional Champions were previously entered into the 2017 event with 1990 race winner, John Heydenreich, and 2005 winner, Tracy Hines, among those seeking golden glory. Damion Gardner bring the number of past race winners to six.

1-16-16-cb-heinbros-13aThe number of A-Feature starts has also climbed as 38 on the list of 266 have made the cut on Saturday night. Sammy of course tops the list with 23 to his credit. Dave Darland at 15 is the closest driver followed by Hines with 14.

While the list of Chili Bowl veterans continues to grow, as does the crowd of first timers. So far, the field of Chili Bowl Rookies represents 21 states and three countries. In all, 266 Entries, 54 Rookies, 38 A-Main starters, & 6 champions from 34 states and 5 countries (USA, Aust., England, Can, NZ)
