CANANDAIGUA FORCED TO POSTPONE “JAN CORCORAN MEMORIAL” DUE TO WET GROUNDS
Canandaigua,NY – We have had to make a decision today that is very hard for us. Due to the current conditions of the pits and fan parking areas at the track we are postponing next weekends 5th Annual “Jan Corcoran Memorial” and the GRIT Series “Cabin Fever 64” April 17th and 18th at Canandaigua Motorsports Park.
Promoter Jeremie Corcoran has been monitoring conditions and had this to say; “I have been at the track working on facilities to get ready for this big weekend coming up and I can’t even get into the pits yet as they are underwater. If you drive in the grass in the fan parking lot you are immediately buried. I have not even been able to get my storage container delivered from A-Verdi for all my tools and equipment. With the weather forecast predicting wet conditions for the next week I just don’t see how we can pull this off. A lot of people, including myself, have put a lot of work into promoting the 17th and 18th and this decision is extremely difficult. To have haulers and fans stuck, damaging the grounds, I can’t take the risk. I think rescheduling for better weather is the prudent thing to do at this point”
Mother Nature may have delayed us but she will not stop us. The GRIT Series “Cabin Fever 64” is now going to be held on Thursday June 11th with the UNOH All Star Sprints. All contingency prizes and lap monies that have been collected will be held for that night.
The 5th Annual “Jan Corcoran Memorial” will be rescheduled also but at this time we have not confirmed the date. The racing schedules are pretty full for the 2015 season and we want to make sure that we are not in conflict with any other shows. The Jan Corcoran Memorial race is a very special event for promoter Jeremie Corcoran and he wants to make sure we have a great field of cars and an exciting show for all the fans. We have a date in mind and we will confirm that date in a few days.
OPENING NIGHT is now Saturday April 25th! We will have a full regular show with some added incentives.
Modifieds – Big Block/Small Block show. $1500 to win + $250 bonus for the first Small Block across the line. We will also have a random drawing for $500 chosen from all Mods that enter the Pits.
