BIG BLOCK MODIFIEDS & 358 MODIFIEDS IN HUGE DOUBLE HEADER AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY TUESDAY NIGHT, JUNE 16 AS THUNDER ON THE HILL CONTINUES

For any modified race fan, Tuesday night, June 16 is a dream come true as the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series and Grandview Speedway present a huge doubleheader featuring the Super DIRTcar Series Modifieds and the Grandview NASCAR 358 Modifieds. It’s a two division program where there really is no second division. Without a doubt, it very well could be the two top modified divisions in the country coming together on the same night. It’s ALL MODIFIEDS, ALL NIGHT!

The question on this night is, who will Double Down and race in both divisions on Tuesday night, June 16? Bob Greene of Pioneer Pole Buildings has posted a $1,000 bonus for any driver that could pull off the near impossible, of winning both features that night. Drivers already planning to Double Down include Danny Johnson, Craig VonDohren, Ryan Godown, Duane Howard, Rusty Smith and Billy Pauch Jr.

This first time ever presentation at Grandview marks the only appearance of the Super DIRTcar Series Big-Blocks in the region — with over $45,000 in cash payout for both divisions. All of the area’s top drivers and many invaders are inquiring about the rules, car specifications and race procedures.

Special thanks to Quaker Steak & Lube as each heat race winner will earn $50 if they are pre-entered. And for this event, there is no entry fee. For drivers to pre enter, just call 443-513-4456 and provide the drivers name, car number and phone number.

The Super DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds will compete in a 60-lap event with $6,000 waiting for the winner in Victory Lane. The 358 Modifieds will battle for a $3,000 top-prize in a 30-lap event.

For a true modified fan, this event is a dream come true. No filler divisions on this program, it’s ALL MODIFIEDS, ALL NIGHT!

Leading the contingent of Series invaders is three-time and defending Super DIRTcar Big-Block Modified Series champion and two-time Traffic Jam winner, Unadilla, NY’s Billy Decker. Decker picked up right where he left off capturing the opening DIRTcar event on April 25 at the Fulton Speedway and is certainly a favorite leading into Tuesday, June 16 “on the hill”.

Super DIRTcar Series regulars expected to march in with Decker include: three-time Series Champion Matt Sheppard of Waterloo, NY, 2014 Forrest Roger Memorial winner Rochester, NY’s Danny Johnson, eight-time series champion Brett Hearn of Sussex, NJ and 2014 Freedom 76 winner Stewart Friesen.

A home-track advantage is definitely an asset and the Grandview Speedway weekly competitors have proved that they should not be taken lightly.

In 2010, after starting twenty-third in a thirty car field, Oley, PA’s Craig VonDohren roared passed series regular Dale Planck with just nine-laps remaining capturing the Traffic Jam victory. VonDohren knows the fast way around the Bechtelsville oval with almost 100 career victories at Grandview Speedway. A pairing to keep an eye on is Oley, PA’s Duane Howard aboard the Mike Petruska owned Atlas Paving Contractors No. 66 machine. Howard holds the second spot on Grandview Speedway’s all-time win list and the Petruska No. 66 has seen DIRTcar series victory lane with almost every pilot that’s taken the wheel.

Past Traffic Jam Winners include: Rick Laubach (2014), Duane Howard (2013), Danny Johnson (2012), Jeff Strunk (2011), Craig VonDohren (2010), Tim Fuller (2009, 2005), Brett Hearn (2009, 2007, 2002, 1998), Billy Decker (2008, 2003), Alan Johnson (2006), Tim McCreadie (2004, 2001), Frank Cozze (2000), and Jimmy Horton (1999)

Celebrating the 26th season of racing action NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series always includes fun for the fans with activities such as: Pre-Race Pit Tours, the Inside/Out Experience – where fans can sign-up to watch hot laps from the infield, the Low Down & Dirty Radio Show pre-race Meet & Greet, JOE “THE PIZZA DUDE”, giveaways, fireworks and appearances by the Thunder Girls.

General Admission ticket pricing for Tuesday, June 16 is $25 for Adults, Children 6-11 are $10 and Kids 5 & under are FREE! Pit Admission pricing is $35 without a license and $30 with a DIRTcar or Grandview Speedway license.
