Barone Starts Off His 2015 Season with a Solid Seventh Place Finish
Sicklerville, NJ (April 7, 2015) – With a strong field of Big Block Modifieds in attendance at Bridgeport Speedway’s 60 Over Special on EasterSunday, Mike Barone started his 2015 season in solid fashion by completing the feature race in seventh place.
When qualifying action got underway, Barone was fast from the start. In the first heat race, he recorded the best lap time while finishing second to Duane Howard. The runner-up finish was astounding considering two issues occurred during the contest. “My power steering breather malfunctioned and spat fluid into my cockpit and on my brake pedal. At one point, my foot slipped off the brake pedal during the race. Also, my right rear tire was losing air and was nearly flat at the end of the race,” said Barone.
For the extra distance 44-lap main event, Barone and his crew decided on a setup that was similar to the heat race. During the first circuit, the fourth place starting Barone recognized the track conditions had changed. “I knew from the first lap that the track had changed from the heat races. I battled a loose car during the entire race,” stated the driver from Hillsborough, NJ. Barone stayed in the top ten for the entire contest and completed the race in seventh place. As of now, Barone is unsure of his next event but will keep his fans informed of his plans on his Facebook page, Mike Barone Racing.
