Newberrytown, PA (August 29, 2015) – Grantville’s Grant Adams won his first BRC Late Model feature of the season at the Susquehanna Speedway Park on Saturday Night. Eddie Richards of Manchester took the checkers on the 20-lap Street Stock feature race. Chambersburg’s Colby Dice won the 20-lap IMCA PA Sprint Series feature event. Kirby Sites from Hamburg won his first 20-lap Xtreme Stock Car feature event of the year. Tim Osheean won the 15-lap Road Warrior race. Dennis Dorosz of Glen Burnie, Maryland won his fifth 12-lap Mini Van feature of the season with a last lap pass for the lead. Steven’s Richard Wolfe was victorious for his third Double Figure 8 race of the season.

Grant Adams started the 25-lap BRC Late Model feature from the pole position and grabbed the lead at the drop of the green flag. On lap 3, Chase Billet settled into second place as Cameron Benyou fell in behind him. Billet chased down Adams to his rear bumper but was unable to make the pass for the lead. Adams took the checkers over Billet. Jed Latshaw finished third with Jake Moser finishing in fourth. Sonny Norris came across the line in fifth. Adams was the heat race winner.

Scott Thunberg grabbed the early lead of the 25-lap Street Stock feature and received immediate pressure from Jim Palm Jr. Palm took the lead away from Thunberg on lap 7. On lap 14, Palm retired from the race with mechanical failure, giving the lead over to Eddie Richards. On the restart, Richards set the pace and took the win at the finish over Jimmy Combs. Thunberg came home in third, followed by Curt McDade in fourth. The fifth place finished was Mark Hutchison. Richards was the heat race winner.

In the 20-lap IMCA PA Sprint Series feature event, Colby Dice and Ken Duke brought the field to the green with Dice taking the top spot and setting the pace. Dice set the pace but Duke was able to close in on Dice as he entered lapped traffic. Dice maneuvered his way through the lapped cars to take the victory over Duke at the end. Donnie Hendershot finished third. Jaremi Ranson and drew Ritchey finished fourth and fifth places respectively. Dice, Hendershot and Duke were the heat race winners.

The 20-lap Xtreme Stock Car feature began with Michael Smith taking the early lead. On a lap 3 restart, Smith had mechanical issues and dropped back, giving the lead to Kirby Sites. Once in front, Sites never looked back and crossed the finish line of runner-up Mallory Duvall. Alex Updegraff finished third, followed by Brian Rehbein in fourth. Patrick McClane finished fifth. Duvall and Updegraff won the heat races.

Tim Osheean won the 15-lap Road Warrior race. Daryl Sipe came from an eighth place starting spot to finish in second. Travis Brown finished third, followed by Donald Fortini in fourth. Brandon Hedstrom rounded out the top five. Underkoffer and Fortini were heat race winners.

Richard Wolfe took the early lead from the front row at the start of the 12-lap Mini Van race and led until Zakari Kitner got by on lap 5. Dennis Dorosz chased down Kitner and made the winning pass coming off turn 4 on the final lap in the non-stop race to take his fifth victory of the season. Kitner had to settle for second at the finish. Richard Wolfe finished in third place, followed by Thomas Thompson in fourth.

Richard Wolfe led from start to finish to win the 15-lap Double Figure 8 feature. Daryl Sipe finished second with Thomas Thompson in third. Zakari Kitner and Dennis Dorosz finished fourth and fifth places respectively.

The next Wednesday night Test & Tune will be on Wednesday, September 2. The gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with practice sessions rotating for each class from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The cost is $14.00 per person for pit passes and a $20.00 fee for each racecar entering the pit area ($34.00 per car & driver combination). Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with open track time from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. by class. Each session will be 6 – 8 laps per session. The grandstands are open and free to the public. Each class will receive 4 to 5 rounds of 6/8 laps each or more if time permits. The main concession stand will also be open throughout the night.

Also on Wednesday night, September 2, there will an open practice session for quarter midgets, karts and Adult Speedcars at the Outback Track from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. under the lights. The gates will open at 5:30 p.m. with open practice from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The cost will be $20.00 per driver with no charge for anyone else entering the grandstand and “cold pit” areas. All Outback Track participants should enter the pits from the Kise Mill Road entrance behind turn 2 of the “Big Track.”
Friday night, September 4, the final round of the Summer Shoot-Out Series will take place at the Outback Track featuring Quarter Midgets, Karts and Adult Speedcars. The pit gates will open 5:45 p.m. with a driver’s meeting at 7:20 p.m. Open practice begins at 7:00 p.m. and racing action begins at 7:30 p.m. The entry fees for each class will be $20.00 per entry for drivers with the seasonal (Spring/Summer) license. Pit pass fees for the driver are included in the entry fee. Non-license driver’s entry fees will be $25.00. Participants may enter more than one class on a raceday ($12.00 for each additional class). Trophies will be awarded to the top three in each class regardless of class entry count. No participants will be denied racing as SSP will make every effort to define a class for all drivers who wish to compete.

Pit pass prices for non-drivers at the Outback Track will be $8.00 for everyone ages 18 & older; Teens & Children ages 11 – 17 are $5.00; Children 10 years of age and under are $3.00. Ages 2 & under are admitted free.

Racing action returns to the Big Track at SSP on Saturday night, September 5 with the 15th Annual York County Nationals. This will be final Track Championship Points race of the season for the BRC Late Models (32 laps – $1,000-to-win), Street Stocks (25 laps), Xtreme Stock Cars, Road Warriors, Mini Vans. Also racing will be the Classic Cars and the EMMR Vintage Cars exhibition. The night will finish with a Small Car Demolition Derby. The special Awards Presentation for the Outback Track Summer Shootout Series has also been moved from September 12 to September 5.

Saturday is also Bernheisel Race Components (BRC) Superior Products Night in which every competitor in attendance for Late Model division will be receiving something of real value. BRC will be partnering with parts suppliers and manufacturers to provide real components and parts. The only requirements to the competitors is that on that night they display BRC decals on the left and right sides of their cars to receive their portion of the $7000 parts to be handed out.

On Saturday (PLEASE NOTE NEW STARTING TIMES), the pit gates will open at 3:30 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 4:00 p.m. Track Prep laps begin at 5:30 p.m. with qualifying races at 6:00 p.m. followed by consolation races and feature events. General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Saturday night are Adults (ages 18-59) $14.00; Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior Adults (60 & Older) $12.00; Children (10 & under) are free. Pit pass prices are $25.00 with a reduced price of $22.00 for all pit competitor license holders. The minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 12 years of age with a copy of a birth certificate is required for all ages 12 to 14.

Due to personal commitments of the Fishers that have recently arisen, the race program scheduled for Saturday night, September 12 has been cancelled.

The 410 Super Sprint Cars return to SSP on Sunday, September 20 along with the IMCA PA Sprint Series. The 410 Sprint Car feature will pay $3,500-to-win for the 25-lap feature event. Non-qualifiers for the A-Main feature will receive a complimentary non-transferrable entry fee ($50.00 value) for the Final Showdown to be held at SSP in November. For the 410 Sprint Cars, mufflers WILL NOT be required and Hoosier Brand Spec Tires will be required on all four corners (same as the 2015 rules at Williams Grove, Lincoln and Port Royal Speedways). All other rules will follow the generally accepted rules for Sprint Cars at local weekly Central PA Sprint Car tracks (1400 pounds weight rule). Raceivers will be mandatory for all Sprint Cars.

On Sunday, the pit gates will open at 3:30 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 4:00 p.m. Warm-ups begin at 5:30 p.m. with qualifying races at 6:00 p.m. followed by consolation races and feature events.
