Action Track USA Suffers 1st Rain Out of ’15; Pauch Returns On July 22nd

Kutztown, PA – Heavy overnight rain that lasted well into the daylight hours of Wednesday, July 15, prohibited Rich Tobias from getting any equipment onto the racing surface at Kutztown’s JeffreyHogueRealtor.com Action Track USA. As a result, Tobias and co-promoter Doug Rose were forced to cancel the racing program scheduled for that night and the speedway suffered its first rain out of the 2015 season.
The bicycles that were going to be given away on Wednesday the 15th will now be up for grabs next week, July 22nd, when the track salutes the area’s youth of all ages on Student Night. Present a current and valid Student I.D. card and get $2.00 off the price of an admission ticket.
Also on July 22nd, Kutztown Mayor Sandra K. Green is expected to buckle in and take some laps around the progressively banked oval in an All Star Slingshot, and there will be a special promotion by Berks County’s one and only daily newspaper, the Reading Eagle.
Fans will also see the return, after a one race absence, of Billy “the Kid” Pauch to USAC SpeedSTR competition. Pauch, a two-time winner this season and the defending National All Pro SpeedSTR Tour Champion, sat out the event on July 8 but will be back in action next week aboard Mike Heffner’s Lelands.com No. 27.
In addition to the USAC All Pro SpeedSTRs, the July 22nd program will include qualifying heats, last chance qualifiers, and main events for the Pioneer Pole Building Wingless 600cc Sprints Powered by Engler Injection and for the NAPA Auto Parts All Star Slingshots. For the Slingers, this will be their final tune up before the NAPA Dutch Classic on July 29, a National Tour event that will certainly entice a banner field of the Briggs & Stratton powered racers.
Warm-ups begin at 6:15 each week with qualifying races immediately following the hot lap sessions.
