Abreu out at Knoxville? Hodnett back to PA on Friday?

According to Rico Abreu’s Crew Chief Paul Silva’s Twitter feed, Rico will not be in the A-Main of Saturday’s Knoxville Nationals due to a commitment to his NASCAR K&N Pro Series ride. Silva also tweeted that Californian Trevor Canales will start and park the Abreu Vineyards 24 on Saturday. More to come as it is available.
PennLive’s Jeremy Elliott reports that Greg Hodnett is leaving Knoxville, IA and is on his way back to Pennsylvania to race at Williams Grove on Friday night in an effort to chase the 2015 Track Championship at the famed Mechanicsburg, PA half mile. Hodnett currently leads the point standings over Lucas Wolfe (who is also in Knoxville) and Brian Montieth who has stayed in Pennsylvania for the week. Hodnett is scheduled to return to Knoxville on Saturday where he will start ninth in the B-Main.
No new news has come out regarding the health of Kevin Swindell. Swindell landed hard on all four wheels during a flip on the first lap of his heat race on Thursday. Swindell was then flown to a Des Moines hospital where he underwent surgery this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Swindell family at this time. Kevin tweeted out last night that he has a Long Road Ahead. Enjoy every minute you got.
Donny Schatz is the high point man heading into Saturday which puts him on the pole for the A-Main over Kerry Madsen.
