6th Annual March Meltdown to Kick Off New Egypt Speedway’s 20th Anniversary on March 18th

New Egypt, NJ – New Egypt Speedway will kick off its 20th Anniversary as a dirt track with its 6th Annual March Meltdown on Saturday March 18th, 2017.
The event which will feature Big/Small Block Modifieds in a 50-Lap affair which will pay $5,000 to win and $400 to start. The Big Block Modifieds and Open Small Block Modifieds will utilize traditional dirt modified windows while spec-headed 358 Modifieds will run sail panels. A unique open tire rule will be in in order to attract outsiders to the Ocean County, NJ D-Shaped facility.
Past winners of the March Meltdown include Jeff Strunk in 2011, Jimmy Horton in 2013, Ryan Godown in 2014, Stewart Friesen in 2012 & 2016 with Mother Nature winning the 2015 edition. All four winners are expected to be in competition on March 18th.
The Open vs. Crate Sportsman will be the support division competing in a 25-Lap feature paying $1,000 to win.
Pit Gates will swing open at 12PM with Spectator gates opening at 2PM with Hot Laps beginning at 3PM and Heat Races at 4PM.
New Egypt Speedway is located on Route 539 in New Egypt, NJ just minutes from Six Flags Great Adventure and the New Jersey Turnpike.
