Season of not winning: It’s just seems weird that guys like Matt Kenseth, Tony Stewart, Clint Bowyer, Ryan Newman, and Greg Biffle who have won multiple races in seasons, past failed to win a race this past season.
Rookie Sensation: Kyle Larson picked up the win in the battle for Rookie of the Year over Austin Dillon.
Smoke Has Risen: It was really cool to see Tony Stewart win the Championship as a car owner after the season that he has had both personally and professionally.
No-Win Newman: In a season that was all about winning, how amazing was it to see Ryan Newman, who didn’t a race all season long, come up just one spot short of winning his first title.
Where’s Jimmie: This certainly wasn’t the season we were looking for out of Jimmie Johnson. I mean only four wins and eleventh in points. I mean, what’s up with that?
Dale Jr’s resurgence: This was probably Dale Jr’s best shot at winning a championship as he recorded four wins. I really hope losing Steve Letarte doesn’t hinder him going into 2015.
David vs Goliath: Who had AJ Allmendinger contending for a championship this year? I certainly did not.
MWR Struggles: After the struggles that Michael Waltrip Racing went through late in 2013, they carried over into 2014. They never seemed to get their feet off the ground.
NAPA Know’s How: Chase Elliott is going to be a rock star in the years to come.
Flash Gordon: Just think, Jeff Gordon was only one spot from being in title contention this past Sunday and with how they ran all day look for them to be title contender again next year.
Danica: While she’s still not a weekly Top-10 car, she has gotten a lot better over the course of 2014.
G’Day Marcos: Marcos Ambrose will return to his native Australia to compete for Roger Penske in the V-8 Supercar Series next season. Sam Hornish will fill the seat of the 9 car.
Epic Rookie Battle: The season started off with one of the best Rookie of the Year battles we have ever seen with Kyle Larson, Austin Dillon, Justin Allgaier, Ryan Truex, Parker Kligerman, Cole Whitt and Alex Bowman all chasing the title.
