BECHTELSVILLE, PA August 6, 2017 . . . The 47th annual Freedom 76 Modified Classic at Grandview Speedway will be run in honor of the late Bruce Rogers. At least $30,000, a $5,000 increase, will go to the winner of the 76-lap Modified stock car race being run on Saturday, September 16th.

“The Freedom 76 was my dad’s favorite race,” said Tina Rogers who works with other family members operating the successful NASCAR short track now finishing up its 55th consecutive season of operation.

The long time promoter passed away in late March after a lengthy illness.

Bruce Rogers worked with his father, Forrest, to bring the one-third-mile, banked clay oval to life back in 1963 and the popular auto racing facility has been in operation since then.

“Having worked with Bruce and the family for what is now my 51st year, I have a huge amount of respect for what he was able to accomplish,” said Grandview public relations person Ernie Saxton. “He was a trend setter in the business of short track auto racing. He was well respected by racers and others in the business. Bruce earned many awards for his promotional efforts.”

The 47th Annual Freedom 76 in Honor of Bruce Rogers is expected to attract many of the top names in dirt track Modified stock car racing as they attempt to qualify for the Classic.

Lap and heat race sponsorships are being offered to give everyone an opportunity to be part of this very special event. Lap sponsorships are priced at $20, SDS Photography has already taken the first lap, and heat race sponsorships are $200 with Stoudt Auto Sales of Reading claiming the first qualifying heat race along with sponsorship of five laps.

Information on sponsorships is available by contacting Ernie Saxton (ESC, Inc.) at Esaxton144@aol.com or telephone 215.752.7797. Tina Rogers and Tommy Kramer, at the track, can also provide information and take sponsorships.

Checks payable to Grandview Speedway can be mailed to ESC, Inc. at 1448 Hollywood Avenue, Langhorne, PA 19047. A pamphlet with all sponsor details is available by request from Ernie Saxton.

The 47th Annual Freedom 76 in Honor of Bruce Rogers will include Sportsman and Mid Atlantic Sprint Series racing on Friday, September 15th and the Classic on Saturday, September 16th.
