This Weekend’s Event at Jackson Motor Speedway Cancelled

Waycross, GA (April 9, 2015) – This weekend’s Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned event at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, scheduled for April 11th, has been cancelled.

The region has been battered with torrential rains over the last few weeks and the grounds at Jackson Motor Speedway are too saturated for this coming weekend’s events.  With more thunderstorms in the forecast, there is not enough time to allow the water table to fall for the grounds and racetrack to dry out.

“We really hate to lose the event at Jackson this weekend.  We were forced to postpone the race last month, and we were hoping for the weather to cooperate for this make-up event.  We can’t wait to come back to Jackson and give the fans a great show,” stated Assistant Series Director, Rick Schwallie, “But after talking with Don Cliburn, the promoter at Jackson, we were unable to find a suitable make-up date for the event.”

Next up for the LOLMDS will be the April 17th and 18th, Bad Boy 98 at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR.  The event will pay $20,000 to win.  Friday will feature Miller Welders Time Trials, and Heat Races.  Saturday’s events will include B-Mains, and the 98-lap Main Event.
