Danny Bohn dominated the NASCAR Whelen Modifed Southern Tour race at Bowman Gray Stadium August 1st. Racers Guide spoke to him before he won the race two years in a row.
“The car was real good. We kind of just practiced on what we were going to run in the race. I think some of the guys put mock qualifying runs put up the stagger a little bit”, said Bohn. “The was running real good. Getting through the corners real good. She got good forward bite off. It’s pretty much the same thing last year and we won last year.”
Bohn couldn’t get to victory line alone. Former NASCAR crew chief Ray Evernham and Bohn’s family lend a helping hands on and off the track.
“He definitely is a help. He stands back a bit, if he see something he’s not afraid to tell us his advice.”, siad Bohn. “Between my dad running modified forever and my dad with all his knowledge, we got a good team behind us.”
RG: Bohn will be behind his brother the wheel of his brothers modified at New Egypt Speedway August 8th. As for that he’s not sure where or when his next race will be.
“I’m not sure, my brothers over in the chair crippled so maybe run his dirt car a couple times. I don’t know we’ll see”, said Bohn. “I think this is the last tour race we’re planning on, but Hickory is coming up towards the end of the season. As good as we were running on the weekly stuff. I might have to make another trip down.”
