Smith%201-XLYORK HAVEN, PA- July 2, 2016- Susquehanna Speedway has been the talk of the local racing scene since Scott Gobrecht took ownership last year and brought Kolten Gouse on to serve as promoter of the Newberrytown facility.

With cosmetic changes such as new barriers, upgraded bathrooms, new lights and more, fans and drivers have been treated to new and improved facilities throughout the 2016 season.

Hosting multiple series on a weekly basis, the racing has been top notch. Thanks to the addition of new clay and constant upkeep by track staff, the speedway has enjoyed resurgence with high car counts and extremely competitive events.

On top of providing an improved racing surface and first class facilities, the speedway  team is looking to thank their support classes with various promotions throughout the season.

“We want to better connect with our drivers and have them feel apart of this speedway,” said Gouse.

In late March, the speedway announced that they would honor various divisions with free pit passes on specified nights. This included Super Sportsman, Limited Late Model, Street Stock, Extreme Sreet Stocks and Road Warrior divisions.

Looking to expand on this promotion and as a way to give back to other divisions who support the track, they will be offering free admission to any driver from the Legends, Road Warriors, Extreme Stocks and Mini Vans for their Firecracker 40 event on July 2nd.

“I can’t remember any track that has done this recently, if ever,” said Gouse. “That’s over 100 drivers that will be eligible for a free grandstand admission.”

Local musicians, The Colt WIlbur Band, will also perform at a pre-race party from 4-6 p.m as part of the weekly parking lot party outside the speedway.

“It’s something small, but we really just wanted to show our drivers in these divisions that we really do care about them and that we appreciate all that they do for us as competitors,” said Gouse, who added they will be doing more  events like this in the future.

Drivers wishing to attend the racing program and cash in on the promotion can pick up their tickets at he grandstand window prior to the nights events.
