PM_Georgetown_5_15_16-1GEORGETOWN, DE – Excitement will be in the air as the Super Late Models return to Georgetown Speedway on Friday, September 30!

A 20-lap invitational “Brown Bag Special” will feature 10 top local Super Late Model stars racing for $2,500 to win and $500 to take the green! This event will serve as a prelude to the big Mid-Atlantic Championship at the Georgetown half-mile in November.

Super Late Model drivers will draw for their starting positions in the 20-lap event. At lap 15, a caution will be thrown to bunch of the field and give fans a true “dash for the cash” at the end.

Confirmed drivers will be announced as the countdown continues to September 30.

Sponsors making this event possible include Atlantic Auto Brokers, First State Crane, Blankenship Auto Sales, Campbell’s Collision, Bi-Rite Auto Sales, Cain Construction, Acopia Home Loans, Carl Deputy & Son Builders, Race Track Auto & Marine and Delaware Auto Exchange.

The Super Late Model program joins a busy ‘September Showdown’ program.

Big-Block/Small-Block Modifieds will race 25 laps for $3,000 to win and $250 to take the green flag. They will be joined by the Crate 602 Sportsman, Delmarva Chargers, Delaware Super Trucks, Little Lincolns and Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars.

Pit gates will open at 4 p.m. Grandstand gates will be unlocked at 5 p.m. Hot laps get underway at 6:20 p.m. with racing at 7:15 p.m.

Grandstand admission is $18 for Adults, $14 for Seniors (ages 65 and up) and Students (ages 13-17). Kids 9-12 are $10. Children eight and under are FREE. Pit admission is $30 with no license required.

Georgetown Speedway, originally constructed by Melvin L. Joseph in 1949, is located at the intersection of Route 113 and Speedway Road in Georgetown, Del., just miles from the Delaware beaches and less than a 40-minute drive from Ocean City, Md.
