DIRTcar Northeast Announces Mr. DIRTcar Home Track Championship changes

WEEDSPORT, N.Y. – July 28, 2016 – DIRTcar Northeast announced a substantial increase in the Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modifieds championship points fund and a newly revamped Mr. DIRTcar championship series.

The championship points fund for the Super DIRTcar Series has been increased by $12,000 with $40,000 now going to the series champion and increased amounts for positions three through 10.

PM_Sharon_072116-34A total of $117,000 is now up for grabs to Super DIRTcar Series competitors this season.

“We are always looking for ways to improve the nation’s preeminent touring, big-block modified series, so we are thrilled to be able to make this points fund increase possible for our competitors,” Director Series and Sanctioning, DIRTcar Northeast Mike Perrotte said.

The Mr. DIRTcar Home Track Championship pits local racers from across the the Northeast region against one another in pursuit of the title and points payout at DIRTcar sanctioned tracks throughout the region. The championship recognizes the work put in by weekly racers throughout the region and is separate from the individual series titles.

The program awards the championship based on the 16 best finishes of a driver in his or her respective division at any DIRTcar sanctioned track in the Northeast. The points fund pays out between $1,000 and $6,000 to the champion, depending on the division. Decreasing amounts are awarded to top-points finishers. To be eligible, a competitor must be a DIRTcar member.

“Local racers and DIRTcar sanctioned tracks are the backbone of DIRTcar Northeast and we are excited to recognize the accomplishments of all who participate through the Mr. DIRTcar Home Track Championship,” Perrotte said. “We would not be able to do what we do without their continued support and investment. This year is shaping up to be a great one.”

This season, DIRTcar Northeast will recognize the points battles throughout the region with a weekly news releases and social media highlighting the weekly Big-Block Modified, Sportsman Modified, 358-Modified and Pro-Stock events, local tracks and stand out performances.
