STOCK CAR INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATION AT WALL STADIUM SATURDAY

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ The birthday of our nation will be the focus on Saturday night (July 6) as auto racing enthusiasts will be rewarded with a 40-lap race for the All American Auto Group Modified stock cars and a 50-lapper for the Surfside Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks. The O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks are set for two 25-lap races, one regularly scheduled and one rain postponed from earlier in the season. The Center State Engineering Sportsman racers and the open cockpit ATQMRA Three Quarter Midgets will each race in a 25-lap main event. The restored cars of the Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club will present a rolling exhibition. Grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m. and qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. Main event racing will follow at 7:00 p.m.

Veterans and active military, with proper id, will be admitted free in honor of their service and the Independence Day holiday. In addition, the holiday weekend celebration will feature a free sunglasses for fans while supplies last, special food items at the refreshment stands and country music on the public address system.

Recent winner Eric Mauriello of Brick will lead the way in the Modified division with expected competition coming from Holmdel’s Andrew Krause, Jackson’s Steven Reed, Toms River’s Derek Hopkinson, Kenny Van Wickle of Manasquan, Dom Fattaruso of Brick and Roger Coss of Lafayette, just to name a few.

Leading the 4 Cylinder Stocks into their 50-lap main event will be point leader Neil Rutt III of Edison, Randy Hart of Brick, Darianne McLaren of Edison, and Jeffrey Loesch of Neptune City, among many others.

Top Sportsman drivers Eric Lane of Howell, Kyle Scisco of Jackson and brothers Jarret and Carsten DiGiantomasso, both of Jackson, are expected to see action in the feature race. Beachwood’s Elliott Wohl and Scott Riggleman of Manchester will lead the Factory Stocks into action.

Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on Saturdays and Sundays during the summer months. The speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B.
