The show encompasses the majority of the local short track scene and will continue through Saturday night, March 12th.

The Phillipsburg Mall is located on Route 22 East in Phillipsburg, New Jersey and the show is FREE of charge to the public. The final details of the final two days of the show contniue as additional drivers sign on to honor “The Old Master” Frankie Schneider on Friday afternoon at 4 PM and Saturday at 1 PM Stan “The Man” Ploski.

With that being said, the Quaker Steak and Lube Dirt Track Heroes Show is honored to bestow the Grand Marshal moniker to one of the great legends in dirt track racing, Stan “The Man” Ploski.  Stan came out of the Sportsman ranks at Flemington and Nazareth and went on to distinguish himself at just about every speedway he ever competed at. In 1963 Stan captured 18 straight Sportsman wins and the track officials forced him into the Modified ranks. Learning his lessons well, Stan finished second to the great Bill Slater at the Langhorne National Open in 1965. Modified wins followed quickly as he scored wins at both Reading and Nazareth and captured his first Modified win at Flemington in June of 1966.

Stan captured many big wins in his career including two Daniel Boone 200 wins at Reading, the Lebanon Valley 200 in 1969 in New York and was an absolute terror at the Five Mile Point speedway where he captured 12 of the first 14 races he competed in at the facility. 1970 and 71 track titles at East Windsor plus a NJ State Championship brought Stan to the famed Ken Brenn 24 in 1972 and Stan captured back to back titles at Flemington in 72 and 73 another title at East Windsor and another NJ State title. Stan captured his final Flemington title in 1977. Stan captured 74 wins at Flemington and added another 46 wins at East Windsor. Stan was inducted into the DIRT Hall of Fame in 1996 and the EMPA Hall of Fame in 2004.
