SIXTEEN YEAR OLD RYAN KRACHUN PROVES HE’S THE REAL DEAL; WINS FIRST CAREER 358 MODIFIED RACE IN SECOND START AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY430

New Egypt, NJ – Sixteen year old Ryan Krachun picked up his first career 358 Modified win in just his second career start at the Ocean County speed plant and would do so in dominating fashion by leading all 30 laps.

“It’s awesome to do this,” said Krachun. “This is only my second race I made in one of these cars and it’s great to win in front of my hometown crowd. I grew up watching my dad in victory lane here and now I’m in victory lane here too, so it’s pretty special.”

Lambertville, NJ’s Doug Ostwald led the twenty-five car field to the green but it would be Ryan Krachun hopping out to the early lead. The first caution would fly just as a lap was being completed when four-time feature winner Ryan Godown was backwards off of turn four. When green replaced yellow Krachun would jump back out to the lead but again the yellow would come unfurled when there was a multi car pileup in turn one involving title contenders Jimmy Blewett and Sammy Piazza. Krachun would again show the way on the restart holding off the challenges of Danny Bouc and Billy Pauch, Jr. The caution would come out again on lap 11 for David VanHorn who stopped on the backstretch with a flat tire. On the restart Pauch, Jr. would elevate his game by getting by Bouc for second and setting his sights on Krachun until he would come to a rest in the short chute on lap 17 with a right-rear flat tire. Krachun would again jump out to the lead now with Bouc in tow. As the race would go on, Bouc would gain entering the corner and Krachun would pull away coming off until the final caution flag would fly with just two laps to go when Chris Esposito came to a sudden stop just off of turn four. Ryan Krachun would not be denied on the final restart winning over Danny Bouc who has his best run of the 2015 campaign with a strong second place; Billy Pauch would wind up third with Jimmy Horton and John McClelland rounding out the top-5.

Mike Carman would pick up his first career Crate Modified feature holding off a late race challenge from his brother and winner last time out Matt Carman. Following the Carman brothers over the finish line would be Jason Bittner, Ryan Simmons, and Steve Hicks.

The NERS/TSRS Sprint Cars would complete five laps of their 20-lap feature when the red would fly for Bobby DeVault who took a nasty flip in the short chute. During the red flag heavy fog, which had been rolling in throughout the evening, just became too much for the competitors to see, causing the remainder of the race to be finished when the series comes back on May 30th.

Shaun Ratchford would make it four winners in four races in the HCI/Metal Fab Rookie Sportsman Division over Dan Fleming, Matt Stangle, Heidi Hedin and newcomer Dakota Kessler.
