Ryan Godown confirmed via Facebook today that he indeed will return to New Egypt Speedway for 2016 and again will be teamed up with John Chemidlin to be back behind the wheel of the EG Tire & Auto No. 747 in chase of his third straight Track Championship.

Rumors had been floating around that Godown would leave NES to drive Norm Hansell’s No. 357 at Grandview and Big Diamond or possibly heading south to Bridgeport Speedway for 2016. Despite several ride offers, Ryan wants to stick with New Egypt.

“I like it at New Egypt, I’m getting used to small block deal, New Egypt is a lot of up on the wheel, I run it more unique than anybody, when I can crossover off the corner like that it’s a lot of fun”, said Godown.

Godown is coming off of a season where he won nine races in 39 starts throughout the 2015 campaign including six at NES on his way to his second straight championship and third overall.

“We’re going into 2016 with everything the same, we got a new ERD Chevy motor at the end of last year that worked pretty good, so we’re going to give that a try”, Godown explained.

For his championship efforts, Ryan will receive a check for $10,000 this coming Saturday night at New Egypt Speedway celebrates the 2015 season at the Hibernians Club in Hamilton, NJ.

Plans also call for Godown to run the 747 in some special shows throughout the season. The car will be on display at the Motorsports 2016 Expo next weekend in Oaks, PA in the Fox Shocks booth.

Godown revealed, “John and I are going to do all the NES special shows and from there we’re going to see what we want to do after that.”

An outlaw small block will also be available for Ryan to take a swing at the Short Track Super Series South title as well.

If the past two seasons were any indication, wherever the 747 unloads it’s sure to be fast.
