Rick Laubach, Elvin Brennan and Mike Lisowski Win at Big Diamond Speedway

Minersville, PA May 22, 2015 John Willman and Justin Grim would bring the the Lias Tire 358 small block Modifieds to the green flag. Willman would lead the first lap, but then Meme DeSantis quickly made his way past Willman to take over the top spot on the second lap. DeSantis would have his hands full with the hard charging Billy Pauch Jr. who wanted to take away first place from him. Pauch would soon find himself in a battle with Rick Laubach who had Duane Howard hot on his heels. Laubach and Howard would both get by Pauch and put their focus on going after DeSantis. As the laps wound down, DeSantis began to feel the pressure from the drivers in second and third spots and with one lap to go, Laubach would pull ahead of DeSantis, leaving him to battle with Howard coming to the checkers. As the checker flag flew, it was Rick Laubach who went to Victory Lane followed by Duane Howard, Meme DeSantis, Billy Pauch Jr. and John Willman. The GME Hard Charger Award was earned by Duane Howard for starting 12th and finishing 2nd for a gain of 11 positions. The heats were won by Justin Grim, Duane Howard and Rick Laubach.

The USS Achey Sportsman were back in action Friday evening at Big Diamond Speedway during the Mark’s Service Center Gone But Not Forgotten Night and were led to the green by Mike Lisowski and Tim Fitpatrick. Lisowski would quickly jump out in front of the field and begin to pull away from everyone. Lisowski would never look back, but behind him Fitpatrick was holding off the challenges of Mike Mammana until lap Mike Glass, who had started in last place in the feature line up, came up to challenge Fitzpatrick for second place. Lisowski would take home the win, Fitzpatrick would finish second followed by Mike Glass, Mike Mammana and Doug Hendricks. The Kim’s Creations Hard Luck award would go to Charles Webber who had to exit after the first lap with a flat tire and was unable to make it back out and the GME Hard Charger goes to Mike Glass for gaining 18 spots after starting 21 and finishing 3rd

Jim Kost and TJ Fitzpatrick would bring the Savage 61 Roadrunners to the green flag making it a rematch, so to speak, after the previous week when the two drivers battled it out in the final laps of the feature to determine the winner. Kost would jump out in front followed by Andrew Fayash III. Fayash would soon find himself battling with Elvin Brennan who was working his way to the front. Lap 6 the caution flew and the leader found himself having an issue as did Fayash ad they would both fall to the rear for the restart, handing the lead over to Elvin Brennan. Brennan had TJ Fitzpatrick following closely, waiting for any opportunity that could arise and give him the top spot. Brennan would find himself visiting Victory Lane for the second time this season and Fitzpatrick would have to settle for finishing in the runner up spot. Rounding out the top five were Jeremy Becker, Chris Holland and Tim Fitzpatrick. The Red White and Blue Autos Hard Luck award was awarded to Shon Elk after having issues throughout the feature . The heats were won by Elvin Brennan and TJ Fitzpatrick.
