Johnson Leads The Pack Heading into Summer Season

250MALTA,NY- June 22, 2016- With seven events completed in the 2016 racing season, the Albany-Saratoga Speedway points races are in full swing. A look at the current standings show familiar faces on top of each divisions standings,

In the Upstate GMC Dealers DIRTcar Modified division Guilderland’s Marc Johnson holds the points lead. With three feature wins, Johnson leads all 48 drivers who have competed this season. Johnson (376 points) holds a 42 point advantage over Brett Hearn (334). Kenny Tremont, Jr. sits in the third position with 330 points with Matt Delorenzo (312) and Stewart Friesen (307) completing the top five.

The Sportsman division sees two time track champion Jeremy Pitts on top of the standings. Pitts (356) has a 36 point lead over new track regular Chad Edwards (320). Tim Hartman, Jr. sits in the third position with 312 points while Chris Johnson is fourth with 300 points. Connor Cleveland rounds out the top five with 295 points.

198Robbie Speed holds the top spot in the DIRTcar Pro Stock division. The Mellenville, New York driver has 344 points and a 46 point lead over second place Walt Brownell (298 points). Kim Duell currently sits third in the standings with 288 points while Brandon Emigh (281 points) and Dave DePaulo (274 points) complete the top five.

Josh Coonradt sits on top of the Street Stock division standings with 370 points. Coonradt holds a slim two point lead over Jason Meltz. In the Greg’s Towing and Repair Four Cylinder divisions Will Ryan (Single Cam) and Steve Ryan (Dual Cam) are the point leaders.

The Albany-Saratoga Speedway returns to action this Friday night with all weekly divisions in action. The Upstate GMC Dealers DIRTcar Modified division will compete in an Outlaw 200 qualifier and the Sportsman division will compete in a King of Dirt Series event. It will also be Autograph Night.
