FRENCHTOWN, NJ- June 13, 2017- The Pauch Racing team had a busy week this past week with four-straight nights of racing.

Billy Pauch Jr. kicked the week off Wednesday at Action Track USA in the SpeedSTR and 600 Micro Sprint.

Jr. set quick time in the SpeedSTR, which locked him into the main event.

In the 600 micro sprint, Jr. started ninth and drove up to second in his heat race.

Jr. started on the outside of the fifth row for the 40-lap SpeedSTR feature.

“We were coming up to sixth or seventh and got caught in a tangle around lap fourteen and had to go to dead last,” Jr. said. “We really worked our tail off and worked our way back up to second.”

Despite the early tangle-up and having to drive his way back through the field, Jr. was satisfied with his second-place finish, although he wished he had seen one more yellow to get a chance at the victory.

Jr. then rolled out in 13th in the 600 micro sprint feature.

“We went a little bit harder on the tire and it didn’t fire right away,” he said. “Once it did fire we ended up fourth. We were coming right at the end. I wish we had another yellow there, too.”

Thursday night saw both Pauch’s at Bridgeport Speedway for the Poker Series Race.

Jr.’s night unfortunately ended early when the motor broke on the third lap of his heat race in the Danny’s Pizza Pizzazz No.51. Jr. and the team were unable to continue.

Billy Pauch Sr. started fifth in his heat race and advanced to third, putting him in the top-12 redraw for the main event.

Sr. started on the inside of the second row for the feature.

“On the start I dropped into fourth,” Sr. said. “I think it was the first or second lap there I was coming off of the turn and either I hit the kill switch or something flew in the car and hit it so it shut the motor down.”

By the time Sr. was able to figure out what happened he fired the car back up and found himself in 15th.

“Then I had a bleeder stick and a tire went low, we pitted and changed the tire,” Sr. said. “We put the bleeder back in and had the same problem the second time. So we just rode it out and finished eleventh.”

Jr. kicked off Friday night at Big Diamond Speedway with a make-up feature that had him starting 10th.

“We were able to get up to fourth,” Jr. said. “We weren’t exactly perfect to where we wanted to be.”

Following the make-up feature were the modified heat races. Jr. started eighth and finished fifth, missing the handicapping by one spot.

Jr. started the main event on the inside of the eighth row.

“I drove up to third and got checked up on a restart and lost a spot to Jeff Strunk,” he said. “We ended up finishing fourth.”

Jr. closed off the busy race week on Saturday at New Egypt Speedway for a double points night.

Jr. crossed the line in fourth from his seventh-place starting spot in the heat race.

“We started 16th in the feature,” noted Jr. “We were too conservative coming through the field with it being double points so it was one of those deals where we took too long to get through. We had a good car and definitely have something to work off of.”

Jr. capped off the night with a fifth-place finish.

Pauch Jr. currently sits as the points leader at New Egypt Speedway in the Holsten racing No.96 Modified.

Pauch Jr. will be back in action Tuesday night at Grandview Speedway for the Thunder on The Hill race, Wednesday at Action Track USA, Thursday at Delaware International for the Diamond State 50 and Saturday at New Egypt Speedway. Pauch Sr. will be making the trip south to Delaware International on Thursday for the Short Track Super Series ‘Diamond State 50.’
