OSWEGO, NY – January 12, 2016 – Oswego Speedway, the Home of Supermodifieds, is proud to play a part in the 31st edition of the Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports 2016 Racecar & Trade Show Fueled by Sunoco Race Fuels and Distributed by Insinger Performance taking place at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA from January 22-24.
With preparations underway for its 66th consecutive season of racing at the ‘Steel Palace’, Oswego Speedway will be armed with two beautiful racing machines to help promote its upcoming 2016 racing calendar.
With the Speedway’s announced return of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour to the fast 5/8 mile during Oswego’s 60th annual International Classic Weekend on Saturday, September 3, Speedway officials are proud to pass on that Doug Coby’s 2015 NASCAR Whelen Modified championship racer will be on display in the Speedway’s booth for the duration of the Motorsports 2016 show.
Coby, a 3-time champion of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, won seven races in 2015 on route to his third championship driving the Mike Smeriglio III owned, Dunleavy’s Truck & Trailer Repair No. 2, with the aid of crew chief Phil Moran.
DSC_9923-MThe Coby machine will no doubt be a show highlight, but when paired with the fastest non-wing Novelis Supermodified in history, the Speedway’s overall display will be a show stopper.
Joining the Coby NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Championship machine as a part of Oswego’s display will be the No. 91 Graham Racing, Xtreme Chassis, Novelis Supermodified, driven last year in the 59th annual Budweiser International Classic 200 by former NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Champion, Bobby Santos III.
The Ray Graham owned Supermodified is officially the fastest Novelis Supermodified to ever circle Oswego Speedway as the car still holds the non-wing track record of 15.802 seconds at an amazing 142.387mph, set back in 2014.
While visiting the Speedway’s booth to take in these two beautiful machines, race fans will be able to pick up a hard copy of Oswego Speedway’s 2016 schedule, check out race highlights from the 2015 season, as well as take home some discounted Speedway novelty items.
