Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars Return For 2017 Season At New Egypt Speedway

New Egypt, NJ – The rapidly growing Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars will again call New Egypt Speedway home again in 2017. After running exhibitions in 2015, 2016 was the first “official” season that these cars hit the racetrack. The highlight of the season was when the series was the support division for the Amsoil USAC National Sprint Car Tour when they visited New Egypt Speedway last June.
In 2016 22 different drivers competed in the Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars at New Egypt Speedway. Six different drivers picked up wins in 2016, Ryan Godown was the big winner picking up five feature event wins at the Ocean County speed plant. Bobby Butler was the inaugural track champion by just 14 markers over Lou Cicconi.
The Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars have 15 races scheduled at New Egypt Speedway during the 2017 campaign including the “Mr. Wingless Classic” planned for Saturday, August 26th.
Several new cars have been purchased for competition at New Egypt Speedway during the 2017 season.
New Egypt Speedway kicks off its 20th Anniversary as a dirt track on Saturday April 1st with the 358 Modifieds, Sportsman, Rookie Sportsman and the aforementioned Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars all in action.
New Egypt Speedway is located on Route 539 in New Egypt, NJ just minutes from Six Flags Great Adventure and the New Jersey Turnpike. A racy 7/16-mile D-shaped dirt oval, New Egypt Speedway serves Garden State race fans with some of the best competition in the country. New Egypt’s state-of-the-art facilities feature daylight-quality lighting and excellent sightlines from any seat in the house. The grandstands are fully wheelchair accessible with wide, clear, and well-groomed walkways. Concession facilities serve up everything from Jersey Burgers to ice cream treats at family-friendly prices.
