New Egypt Speedway Implements New Two Feature System for Sportsman and Street Stock Division

New Egypt, NJ–           For the first time ever New Egypt Speedway is changing the racing formula for two divisions, the Sportsman and Street Stock, to no longer include heat races. With DSC_0188falling car counts in both divisions, heat races have become unnecessary as all cars are qualified. Starting this Saturday, April 18th, the Street Stock division will run two features instead of heats and a feature if less than 24 cars sign in. The following Saturday, April 25th, will see the implantation in the Sportsman division.

“We have been looking into making the racing more exciting in our divisions where all cars are qualified from the time they sign in,” said General Manager Allyse Wolfinger. “Our Race Director Jim Mich came up with what should be a very entertaining option for the fans that eliminates the heat races and focuses on feature events that are worth something.”

The Street Stocks will now race two, 12 lap features during their scheduled events. The purse will be split evenly between the two features with the winner receiving $150 and green money will be $30 in each. The Sportsman will now race two, 15 lap features during their scheduled events. The purse will be split evenly between the two features with the winner receiving $250 and green money will be $37.50 in each.

Both feature events will be full point paying events. If a driver is unable to start the second feature, he or she will receive green money and show up points. The second feature will have an invert that is determined by the number of cars signed in that night. If a driver is able to win both feature events in the same night they will receive a $100 bonus. Crate Modifieds will still be able to race with the Sportsman, however they will receive no points, no handicapping, and will not be included in the inversion. If a full field of 24 cars signs in on the night of the event, the old system of heats and a feature will be used.
