1-IMG_3079SYRACUSE, NY –August 4, 2016-  After a rather wet Weekend of Money, the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) points battles will heat up this weekend.  The stars and cars will visit two very popular ovals in two different countries.  On Friday it’s off to the Ohsweken Speedway followed by a trip back to the states and at Canandaigua.

The home of the Canandian Sprint Car Nationals is always notched on the ESS calendar.  Not only does it provide points for the overall Lucas Oil ESS Championship but also for the Einstein Construction Group Tour of Canada. The top two drivers in the points Jason Barney and Steve Poirier love to visit the track that is on the Six Nations Reserve.  Whether it’s this visit in August or the Nationals itself, they are regarded as one of the favorites.

The ESS invasion this year looks to be one of the largest to date, Paul Kinney, Matt Tanner, Parker Evans, Shawn Donath, Jeff Cook, Dave and Tim Axton, Chad Miller, Brandon Kidd, Paulie Colagiovanni, Jordan Poirier, Scott Kreutter, Denny Peebles and more are expected to be on hand.

Always unique about the Ohsweken event is battling the Ohsweken regulars and they will be out in force to defend the home turf. Last years winner Mitch Brown leads their points heading into this weekend. Dylan Westbrook, Dave Dykstra, Cory Turner, Dain Naiida, Jake Brown, Ryan Turner, Jim Huppunen, track owner Glenn Styres and Tyler Hendricks round out the top ten.

Also looking to be on hand will be Jamie Turner, Steve Lyons, Curtis Gartly, Lee Winger, Derek Jonantha, Stan Zanchin and others will make for a stout field.

Ackland Insurance is sponsoring the Cobra Coaches Dash with Club 54 Motorsports adding to the Car Mate Trailers Heats to make them $100 to win.

1-IMG_2749On Saturday it’s the second visit to the Land of Legends.  During the annual CNY Speedweek Matt Tanner bested a big field of sprints.  Expected to join the ESS faithful from Ohsweken will be Chuck Hebing, Bryan Howland, Danny Varin, Jonathan Preston, Mike Stelter, Cory Sparks, Joe Trenca, Sammy Reakes IV, Paul Habeck, Lee Sanders, Darryl and Alysha Ruggles, Dan Kuhn, Derrick Juliano and more.

Danny Willmes Enterprises is not only the sponsor of the dash on this night but also sponsors the lap leader award for the entire season.
