Both events will feature an action-packed program that includes: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 60-lap, $12,000-to-win main event.

The weekend begins on Saturday, July 2nd, when Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, OH hosts the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for the annual Independence 60. The Open Wheel Modifieds and Limited Late Models will also be in action on July 2nd. In 2015, Brandon Sheppard made a late-race charge to the lead, following a long 3-wide battle for the top spot between himself, Earl Pearson Jr. and Dennis Erb Jr. Jared Landers came from the tail, following a tire change, to finish second. Erb started 13th and finished third, followed by Jimmy Owens and Pearson.

Portsmouth Raceway Park is located along the Ohio River at 25648 State Route 73, just minutes from Downtown Portsmouth. Further information is available at: www.portsraceway.com.

Also on the racing card will be the Open Wheel Modifieds, Pure Stocks, and Four Cylinders. Jimmy Owens claimed the last Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event at Muskingum County Speedway, becoming the tenth different winner in ten appearances by the Series at the 3/8-mile oval.
