Action Returns this Weekend at Ponderosa and Lawrenceburg

The heart-pounding action of the nation’s top dirt late model drivers will invade Ponderosa Speedway on Friday, August 26th and Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday, August 27th.

Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY will host the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for the first time in the storied history of the 3/8-mile oval. The 13th Annual John Bradshaw Memorial – presented by Sweet Beans n’ Things will feature a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains and a 50-lap, $10,000-to-win main event. The Pro Late Models and Modifieds will also be in competition on Friday, August 26th.

Better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring,” Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane in Junction City, just minutes from Danville, KY.

13323327_10154326481539636_5989974325437046044_oTrack promoter Jamie Stumph and the entire staff of Ponderosa Speedway have worked vigorously to rejuvenate the historic dirt oval. New clay has recently been added, along with additional seating in the general admission area.

On Saturday night, the action will shift to Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, IN for the annual “Whiskey City 60.” The event will be a complete show of: Miller Welders, Heat Races, B-Mains and a 60-lap, $12,000-to-win main event. In 2015, Scott Bloomquist scored his first-career win at the 3/8-mile, high-banked oval. Jonathan Davenport finished second, followed by Jimmy Owens, Eddie Carrier Jr., and Dennis Erb Jr. The Open Wheel Modifieds will also be in competition on Saturday, August 27th.
