LOENBRO MOTORSPORTS AND AF RACING JOIN FORCES FOR 2017 RED BULL GRC SEASON

Loenbro Motorsports and AF Racing are pleased to announce a partnership for the 2017 Red Bull Global Rallycross season. Effective immediately, the alliance will see the front-running teams in the Supercar and GRC Lites classes join forces to strengthen their collective efforts in pursuit of both of this year’s championships.

“Having worked my way up through the ranks of racing, it’s important to me to make sure that talented young drivers have a path to the highest level of the sport,” said Loenbro Motorsports general manager and Red Bull GRC race winner Steve Arpin. “Our partnership with AF Racing will allow us to do just that: not only can we give young drivers a path to follow to get to the Supercar class, we can also give sponsors a unique platform to align with drivers over the long term. We’re really excited for what the future brings, and we can’t wait to get started!”

The new partnership will see Loenbro Motorsports and AF Racing enter a comprehensive technical and marketing relationship, designed to give young drivers a path to the Supercar class and GRC Lites drivers access to key developmental resources. The combined effort is designed to reach out to the grassroots level of motorsports, giving talented drivers an opportunity to race at the highest level, while also offering sponsors an opportunity to enter the sport and grow with young drivers.

Loenbro Motorsports and AF Racing are among Red Bull Global Rallycross’ most successful race teams. In the Supercar class, the Loenbro Motorsports squad earned two victories and nine podiums in 2016, placing third and fourth in the drivers’ championship. AF Racing is one of the longest-running teams in GRC Lites, having entered three-time Fan Favorite Driver Alejandro Fernandez in each of the past three seasons and expanding to three cars last year.

The 2017 Red Bull Global Rallycross season will kick off on April 28-29 at Memphis International Raceway. This year’s schedule features the return of popular stops in Seattle and Los Angeles, as well as the series’ first-ever visit to Canada. Supercar championship rounds will be broadcast on NBC as part of the series’ largest-ever television slate this year.
