First Rain Out Of Season Occurs On What Was To Be A Very Special Night Of Racing…

Newmanstown, PA –  Lanco’s Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway has postponed the Charlotte Hartman Memorial Race for 270’s and the Slide at the Clyde 3 for the All Star Slingshots that were scheduled for June 27.

Those events will be made up on September 5 & 6, respectively, as part of the annual Labor Day Shootout at the Clyde. More details regarding those make up dates will be announced in the coming weeks.

The 600cc, Sportsman, 125cc, and 250cc Four-Stroke races scheduled for June 27 have been canceled and will not be made up.

Lanco’s first complete rain out of the season comes, unfortunately, on what was to be a HUGE night of racing at the Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway. The 270cc Charlotte Emerich Hartman Memorial Race and the Slide at the Clyde 3 for All Star Slingshots were both going to pay more than $1100 to the winner (based on car count), plus lap money and additional cash to special award recipients. As mentioned, though, both of those events will be made up on Labor Day weekend.

Attention now turns to Star Spangled Havoc on July 4…when the ARDC Midgets make their first ever appearance at Lanco’s Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway! Joining the mighty Midgets will be Wingless 600’s in Firecracker Frenzy and Wingless 270’s in the Clash at the Clyde. Gates open at 3 p.m., qualifying for the W/L 600’s and 270’s begins at 5:30, and the ARDC Midgets hit the track for hot laps at8:00. NOTE: ARDC teams should plan to put heat in their motors at approximately 6:30, right after the Micro-Sprint heat races.

Hyper Racing presents Star Spangled Havoc for the ARDC Midgets, while Bud’s Spring & Suspension of Lancaster is sponsoring Firecracker Frenzy for the Wingless 600cc Micro-Sprints. Dayton Parts has signed on as the sponsor of the Wingless 270cc Clash at the Clyde.

Come and celebrate Independence Day the right way, by enjoying some flying clay and LIVE the excitement that is Lanco and Star Spangled Havoc!

2014 ARDC Champion Steve Drevicki, a former Clyde Martin 270cc feature winner and Sportsman Class point champion, will lead the cars and stars of the American Racing Drivers Club into Star Spangled Havoc on the Fourth of July. It will mark ARDC’s first ever appearance at Lanco’s Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway.
