Minersville, PA June 5, 2015 The Ultimate Underdog, John Willman set his eyes on the big prize Friday evening when the  Lias Tire 358 Modified Feature boasted $3000 to win and was able to hold off many talented racers in order to score his first win at the Minersville oval. Ray Swinehart would follow and challenge Willman for the lead early in the race, but Willman was successful in holding him off and it gave time for Craig VonDohren to chase Swinehart down.  VonDohren would take second place away on lap 15 as Willman continued to set the pace.  VonDohren would be involved in a mishap on lap 21 that caused him to head to the pit area and saw Duane Howard sent to the rear for his involvement in the accident.  The restart then pitted Billy Pauch Jr. against Willman, but Willman once again was able to hold off the hard charging Pauch and score his first win of the season at Big Diamond.  Pauch would finish second followed by Kevin Beach Jr., Ray Swinehart and Meme DeSantis.  The GME Hard Charger Award was earned by Bobby Gunther Walsh for starting 20th and finishing 12th for a gain of 8 positions.  The heats were won by Justin Grim, John Willman and Billy Pauch Jr.
The USS Achey Sportsman were brought to the green flag by Paul Kline and Doug Hendricks.  Kline would be able to assume the top spot and Hendricks bided his time as he waited for his chance at the lead.  The field would see the caution fly at lap 10 and on the restart, Hendricks and Kline would battle it out for the number one spot, but it was Hendricks this time that was able to pull away from Kline.  Kline would have his hands full holding off Mike Mammana, but coming to the checkers, Mammana would pass Kline for the runner up spot and Kline would be credited with a third place finish.  Rounding out the top five were Tim Fitzpatrick and Doug Witmer.   The Kim’s Creations Hard Luck award would go to Chris Lilick who was unable to continue after he was caught up in an accident on lap 14  and the GME Hard Charger goes to Charles Webber for gaining  8spots after starting 18th and winning the race.  The heats were won by Mike Mammana and Tim Fitzpatrick.
The Savage 61 Roadrunners put on a another great show for the fans Friday in their 20 lap feature event.  Shon Elk and Jim Kost found themselves on the front row after the redraw for the feature line up and would bring the field to the green flag.  Kost would pull out in front of the field but he had Terry Kramer Jr. ready to strike in the runner up spot.  Kramer would soon feel the pressure from Elvin Brennan and Kris Ney, who both wanted to take the spot at way from Kramer and have their chance to go after Kost for the lead.  Coming to the white flag, Brennan and Ney would end up getting together coming down the front stretch, bringing out the yellow and setting the field up for a green and checker finish.  Kost would lead the single file field to the restart and be able to keep Kramer behind him for one more lap and earn his way to Victory Lane.  Kramer would finish second followed by Shon Elk, Tim Fitzpatrick and TJ Fitpatrick.     The Red White and Blue Autos Hard Luck award was awarded to Kris Ney after unable to finish the feature event when he was caught up in a late race accident.  The heats were won by Elvin Brennan and Chris Holland.
