101_3595Glenn Hyneman’s No. 126, one of the most iconic teams in dirt Modified racing, will chase a much more aggressive schedule of events in 2016, including full-time action at Big Diamond and Grandview speedways, along with special events at Bridgeport Speedway and the Short Track Super Series southern region events.

His driver?  Pennsylvania hotshoe, Jeff Strunk.

Hyneman and Strunk are no strangers to each other and no strangers to success.  The duo last teamed up from mid-2006 through the end of the 2008 season, capturing back-to-back championships at both Big Diamond and Grandview speedways in 2007 and 2008 – including the $20,000-to-win Freedom 76 event at Grandview in 2007.

After Strunk and Hyneman’s ’08 split, Billy Pauch Sr. climbed aboard the Keystone No. 126, competing in special events throughout the 2009 season before Hyneman made a three-year departure from the sport.

101_1793Hyneman returned at the beginning of the 2013 season with Oley, PA’s Duane Howard, fielding a car for action at Big Diamond and special events. The team finished second in the 2015 Big Diamond point standings and claimed three wins, including two at Big Diamond and one at Bridgeport.  Hynemann put Rick Laubach in his car towards the end of the 2015 racing season, picking up a big block Modified win at Bridgeport Speedway.

Hyneman’s operation is geared for success with a new car and engine for competition at Grandview, and a new big block car and engine for special events – along with the team’s small block and big block equipment from the 2015 season.

Strunk, a 10-time champion at Grandview, competed in 2015 aboard a Dave Zubikowski-owned machine, finishing third in the Modified point standings and claiming five wins on the season.

101_9093The bright red Keystone Racing machine has garnered wins and championships for nearly four decades, running both big and small block Modifieds as well as Sprint Cars with many of the sport’s best, including Howard, Pauch, Strunk, Laubach, and Craig Von Dohren.

The Short Track Super Series schedule kicks off on Saturday, March 12 at Delaware’s Georgetown Speedway; Big Diamond Raceway’s first event is scheduled for Friday, March 20, and Grandview Speedway’s season opener is set for Saturday, April 2.
