BECHTELSVILLE, PA – March 28, 2017 – After being weathered out last Saturday, Grandview Speedway will try again with their annual free-to-the-public practice session this Saturday, April 1. Activity is expected to get the green flag at noon with many different classes of competition expected to join the Grandview regulars of T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars along with Enduro and Vintage racers. Pits will open at 9 a.m.

The one week later than planned Saturday afternoon practice session will give racers the opportunity to test and tune their racing equipment for the new season, work out the kinks and just get a feel for the new track surface before “official” racing action gets underway on April 8th.

With the one week delay it is expected that the turnout for practice will be bigger than what was expected for the original practice day.

Pit admission for the practice session is $30. Practice is open to all classes of Grandview competition and visitors.

Grandview Speedway Chaplain, Rev Don Kerns, will be available to bless race cars, drivers, and teams (dogs too) in the pits during the open practice session Saturday April 1st beginning at noon. To schedule a blessing reply to Pastor Don at pastordon7@yahoo.com

Season passes will still be available, $350 per person, and those who have season passes and have not done so already will have the opportunity to pick their reserved seat that will be good for every Saturday night stock car racing event, April through September (Freedom 76).

The battle for the lucrative 2017 NASCAR and track championships gets underway on Saturday, April 8th, 7 p.m. with a stellar field of racers expected to be taking part in the lucrative championship chases for the T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars. RCN TV will on hand to video all the action for future showing. Check in at www.rcn.com for information on the dates the events will be shown.

During the new season Craig VonDohren will be looking to add another NASCAR title to his impressive resume in the T.P.Trailers 358 Modified division. Chuck Schutz will be seeking to add to his list of BRC Late Model titles and Jordan Henn is looking to make it two Sportsman titles in a row.

Admission for adults for the official season opener is $15 for adults and free for youngsters 11 and under. Admission to the pits is $30 and a NASCAR license is required.

On Sunday, April 9th, 1 p.m. the first Enduro and Blast from the Past Vintage racers doubleheader will take place.

The first extra distance event of the season is set for Saturday, April 15th with a 35-lapper for the TP Trailers Modifieds topping the show along with racing for the BRC Late Models and Sportsman. Racing gets the green at 7 p.m. with spectator gates open at 5 p.m. Pit gates open at 2 p.m. Adult admission will be $20 while youngsters 6-11 pay just $5 and children under 6 are admitted free.
