Friesen To Call Albany-Saratoga Home In 2016

018Malta, NY –April 22, 2016-  When the green flag waves on Friday night’s season opener for the DIRTcar Modified division at the Albany-Saratoga Speedway, a new yet very familiar name will take the first step in his quest for the track championship. Stewart Friesen will join the already stout DIRTcar Modified field on a weekly basis at the Great Race Place for the 2016 season.

“We will be a regular at Albany-Saratoga on Friday nights,” Friesen said. “We will have the Halmar International number 44 at Albany-Saratoga each week. This is a partnership between Halmar, Jeff Daley and Tadd Parks.”

The Great Race Place boasts one of the most talented weekly fields in Northeast Dirt Modified racing and the addition of Friesen will add to the deep field.  The Spraker’s, New York driver is looking for consistency and success in 2016.

“We are looking to do the best that we can each week,” Friesen said. “Malta has a lot of tough competition and we are looking to be as consistent as possible. We are going to put our best foot forward.”

069The now familiar number 44 Teo chassis DIRTcar Modified will carry sponsorship from Halmar International, Jeff Daley and Sons, Park Companies and Bart Construction. The multi-time Syracuse 200 champion will follow the Super DIRTcar Series with the number 44 this season.

“In 2016 we will be representing the Albany-Saratoga Speedway on the Super DIRTcar Series,” Friesen said. “Our home track points will come from Albany-Saratoga.”

The Albany-Saratoga Speedway will kick off the 2016 season with the 51st season opener tomorrow evening April 22nd. All weekly divisions will be in action plus the Greg’s Towing and Repair Four Cylinders. The DIRTcar Modifieds will be competing for a $3,000 top prize.

Racing is set to begin at 7pm with grandstand gates opening at 5pm and pit gates opening at 4pm. The scheduled Sunday rain date will not be used.
