New Egypt, NJ – With over three inches of rain falling in the New Egypt, NJ area on Friday afternoon and an already soft racing surface, speedway management feels that they cant provide a smooth and racy race track and has been forced to cancel for Saturday night May 6th.

“We hate it for our Crate and Street Stock’s because they still haven’t had a chance to race yet but with the amount of rain that fell yesterday and the forecast for tonight everything is just too wet for favorable racing conditions”, said New Egypt Speedway’s Joey Liquori.

New Egypt Speedway will now be hosting an Open Practice on Tuesday May 9th from 3:30PM-7:30PM. Pit gates will open at 2:30PM and pit admission will be $25 per person. If interested call Joey at 908-256-0234 or contact the track at 609-758-1900.

Pit gates unlock at 3:00 p.m. with spectator turnstiles opening at 4:00 p.m. Hot laps get underway at 5:00 p.m. and the racing starts at 6:00 p.m. Admission to the grandstand is $20 for adults, $18 for seniors 65 and older, $10 for teens 12-15, $10 for military personal and their spouses with ID, and Kids 11 & under are FREE.
