Lucas Oil Late Models Return to Fayetteville Motor Speedway

WAYCROSS, GA- August 4, 2016- The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will return to Fayetteville Motor Speedway in 2016. The stars of the nation’s premier dirt late model tour will tackle the lightning-fast, 4/10-mile oval on Thursday, September 29th.
The Dunn Benson Ford Wayne Gray Sr. Memorial will include a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and the 50-lap, $10,000-to-win main event for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. The night will also feature: Fayetteville Motor Speedway Late Models, Modifieds, Pure Stocks, and U-Car divisions.
Jonathan Davenport will return as the defending champion of the Dunn Benson Ford Wayne Gray Sr. Memorial. In 2015, Davenport assumed the point from Earl Pearson Jr. on lap-27 and went on to win his fourth consecutive Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event. Pearson Jr. finished second, followed by Steve Francis, Steve Casebolt, and Ross Bailes.

Two-time series champion, Scott Bloomquist leads the defending champion, Jonathan Davenport in the current Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series standings. Brandon Sheppard is third, followed by Jared Landers and Tim McCreadie. Sixth through twelfth are: Dennis Erb Jr., Darrell Lanigan, Don O’Neal, Earl Pearson Jr., Jimmy Owens, Steve Francis, and Colton Flinner.
