The Dutch Hoag Memorial Will Now Go to a 1 Day Format on October 22nd.

DUNDEE, N.Y. —October 5, 2016- Several changes to the last weekend of racing at the Outlaw Speedway were released exclusively to Race Chaser Online on Friday evening.
The first major change is that the event will now carry the name Dutch Hoag Memorial. This change coming after the sad news earlier in the season that the local racing community lost a living legend in Dutch Hoag.
The loss was felt across the local and regional community, with even Tommy Baldwin’s NASCAR Sprint Cup team honoring Hoag with a special tribute paint scheme on their No. 7 (Hoag’s number during his career) back in August. Dutch Hoag National Open Weekend was always meant to put the best dirt racers in the Northeast on display one last time, before the offseason.
This season will see that take place once again, but a new one-day format was released by Outlaw Speedway first-year owner and promoter Tyler Siri on Friday night. 2016’s Dutch Hoag Memorial will see eight divisions compete on Saturday October 22nd, with more than generous purses being up for grabs.
•Big Block/Small Block Modifieds will compete in the Dutch Hoag Memorial, a seventy-lap feature event paying $7,000-to-win and $700-to-start. There will also be a seven-lap dash for cash paying $700-to-win. This is the third of three legs for the Sunoco Modified challenge that could see Tyler Siri or Steve Paine cash in on a partial bonus of $12,500 if they win the Dutch Hoag Memorial.
•360 Sprint Cars will return for an event put on by the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints that is open to any 360 sprint paying $3,000-to-win and $300-to-start.
•Crate Sportsman will race for thirty laps, paying $1,500-to-win and $150-to-start.
•IMCA Modifieds will go twenty-five laps for $1,000-to-win.
•The Empire 100 for the Street Stocks will go their traditional one hundred laps for $2,000-to-win and receive $200 just to take the green flag. This purse on top of the traditional $4,000-$5,000 in lap money and contingency prizes raised by the Stuart family and the cast from Turn 5 Live.
•Pure Stocks will make their return to Outlaw Speedway for a twenty-five lap feature event paying $500-to-win.
•Four Cylinders with ‘Outlaw Style Rules’ that was run recently during the Outlaw Fall Nationals will return for a twenty-five-lap feature paying $1,000-to-win.
•600 Micro Sprints will also return for a $1,000-to-win event going twenty laps in distance.
Though the one-day format of racing is scheduled to take place on Saturday, the speedway will be open on Friday night for practice from 7:00-10:00 for a $20 pit pass. Racers are encouraged to come out Friday night to mark out their parking spaces for the big show on Saturday and get valuable track time to fine tune their machines. Grandstand admission for Friday’s practice will be free of charge. There will also be a DJ playing music in the FREE camping area from 7:00-12:00 on Friday night.
An aggressive one-day schedule of events is planned and is tentatively plotted out as such.
•Gates will open Saturday morning at 8:00AM.
•Hot laps will take the green flag at 12:00PM.
•The first heat races will take the track at 1:00PM and run until approximately 4:00PM.
•The track will be groomed from 4:00PM-5:00PM, with racers and fans being able to take a ‘dinner break’ in preparation for the feature events.
•Opening ceremonies will kick off at 5:00PM, with the first feature event hitting the track at 5:30PM.
Grandstand admission is set at $22, with pit passes requiring a $40 fee. Modifieds and Street Stocks will also carry a $20 entry fee for Saturday’s race.
The Dutch Hoag Memorial coming up in a few weeks will be history-making and a can’t miss event to close out the action on the ‘Fast Four-Tenths-Mile’. One thing Outlaw Speedway has shown this season is they’re not afraid to make a big splash and put up undeniable purses for the racers to feast on. Saturday October 22nd appears to be no different, with aggressive purses and an aggressive one-day format.
