DIRT CAPITOL TAKING MAY IN STRIDE WITH VARIOUS UPCOMING EVENTS

HAGERSTOWN, MD – April was a productive month at the Hagerstown Speedway/Dirt Capitol but the fan awaited event, the Schetrompf Memorial with the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Models took the hit from Mother Nature.

May arrived with the Mother’s Day Special as Gary Stuhler, Scott Palmer, Mike Corbin and Gary Proctor all produced repeat wins.

Moving along to more events, Dirt Capitol will host the Test & Tune this Wednesday, the 13th with any cars from any track welcome from 7 until 9 p.m. General Admission is free.

This Saturday, the 16th, it’s Student Night, Armed Forces/Law Enforcement, Fire/Rescue/ ARCH Appreciation Night with $2.00 Off. The Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic Late Models, Malloy Ford Late Model Sportsman, K-Lynn Management Pure Stocks, Mason Dixon Auto Auction Hobby Stocks Spring Championship (Double Points) are scheduled along with the first appearance of the Mid-Atlantic Modifieds.

Saturday, the 23rd is the Western Maryland Challenge Hagerstown/Cumberland Speedways for Late Models with $2500 to win and 25 laps. The Late Model Sportsman, Pure Stocks ($300 to win, 20 laps) Hobby Stocks and also the opening event of the P.A.M.S. Mini Stock Series are scheduled.

The month will come to an end on Saturday the 30th with the Late Model Sportsman being featured in a 30-lap $1,500 to win event. The winner of this feature will be a guaranteed starter in the Ernie D’s Fall Bash. Pure Stocks will compete in a Double Point Sprint Championship along with the Hobby Stocks, Classic Racing Series and the Sidewinder Sprints.

An added May feature for Sunday May 31st is the Kenny Wallace Dirt Track Driving Experience where you can drive a dirt race car or just experience a ride along with a Wallace driver. Reference their website www.dirtracewithkenny.com for all information about this opportunity.

All May events have a standard starting time of 7:00 p.m. with warm-ups beginning at 6:30 p.m.
