_MG_0455ABBOTTSTOWN, PA -August 21, 2016 – Danny Dietrich took home the $5,000 top prize and led a PA Posse sweep on the podium and Saturday night’s Arctic Cat All-Star 30-lap feature event at Lincoln Speedway.

Dietrich was 11th fastest in time trials, won his heat, and finished second in the dash to start alongside polesitter Lucas Wolfe in the “A Main.” He followed Wolfe for the first 16 laps before making the race-winning pass exiting turn two of lap 17. He then drove away to a 2.81-second win over Lincoln point leader Alan Krimes, who caught Wolfe for the runner-up spot as the leaders raced through heavy lapped traffic on lap 20.

It’s was Dietrich’s second All-Star win of the year, the seventh All-Star win of his career, fourth Lincoln All-Star win, and 31st overall Lincoln career win.

_MG_0360“I couldn’t be more excited to be back at Lincoln Speedway,” said Dietrich after exiting his Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Hickory Run Orchards/Weikert’s Livestock #48 in victory lane, “It feels like we haven’t been here for a long time. Last time we were here we were pretty good, but it was a handicapped show and we had to come from 12th. Not that it couldn’t have been done.”

“We went back to some old notes,” continued Dietrich, “I’m proud of our guys who have been working their butts off. I want to thank Gary (Kauffman) and everyone who sponsors this thing. I was trying to stay with Lucas and thought I would be better at the end. I was definitely tight at the beginning of the race. I was trying to play my cards right. I thought I could use lapped traffic and was waiting for the bottom to come in on turn four and it was pretty wide out of three and four. I was pretty good up there. After I got the lead, I think I saw Lucas’ front bumper underneath me once, so I just kinda put my turn signal on. That’s what we do to win these races.”

Above all, Dietrich said he was glad to be back home.

_MG_0468“I’m glad to be back. This is my home track. I’m glad to see all these fans at this place again, and I couldn’t be happier to be back.”

Wolfe settled for third, with top finishing All-Star Dale Blaney fourth and Freddie Rahmer completing the top five. Sixth through tenth were Brandon Rahmer, Ryan Smith, Gerard McIntyre, Jr., Austin Hogue, and Stevie Smith (the third Rahmer car in the top ten).

Sprint heats were won by Andrew Palker, Cap Henry, Danny Dietrich, and Chad Kemenah, with Jim Siegel winning the B-Main and Wolfe winning the Dash. Fast time in time trials over the 41-car All Star Sprint field was set by Dale Blaney with a 1-lap time of 13.168-seconds (102.521 MPH).

Bob Stough came from eighth starting spot to win the 20-lap Central PA Legends feature.

It was an unexpected win, as polesitter Harlan Leppo led the first 18 laps before slowing in turn two of lap 19. At the time, Stough was racing with Mason Chaney for the runner-up spot, which turned into a battle for the lead. Stough took control later in the lap, and edged Chaney at the line for his seventh career Lincoln win (second behind Jason Rochelle’s 10 wins).

Chaney crossed less than a car length behind in second, with Chad Earnst, Lucas Montgomery, and Reed Saloney (who came from 18th starting spot and failing to start his heat).

Heats for the 21 Central PA Legends were won by Leppo and Chaney.
